Hi there,
I was wondering if anyone has had the same problem as I did with my Canon A75. The camera was functioning normally when I was taking pictures & than all of a sudden the LCD went blank. No image is being displayed, only a dark screen. The menu comes up & functions can be changed but no actual image is captured on the LCD. There is continuous dark screen.
Any ideas why this is happening & how can this be fixed.
This sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager. If so, Canon should fix this for you for free, including free shipping both ways. This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please check the following two links for more info:

If you get a blank screen and the camera is on,there are two ribbons to the LCD one (the smaller one) is power to the screen. the larger ribbon is the data lines. If the camera is on the problem is a loose connection of one or both of the ribbons. Hope this helps Jerry
Yes, memory card pin set are available for replacement. Unfortunately, camera needs to be disassembled to some point to replace it. The average cost may run around $75- $125 in US repair shops.
