I have continuously had battery problems with my Nikon CoolPix L18; after shipping back to Nikon I was informed that there was not a problem. I have since purchased another L18 for my Mom thinking that it could not be a manufacturer problem - however, now we have two cameras that will not hold a battery charge for more than a few pics - literally I had less than an hour of pics on my camera. My Mom & I, are both unhappy with our cameras - any suggestions of the recommended batteries to use for this camera?

remove the SD memory card. this fixed mine.

Recharables as it will be cheaper since these are huge battery eaters NIkon is keeping the battery companies in business with you folks. BY all means find a diffrent brand you not the only ones with battery eaters!! Canon SLR, Pentax are the best battery savors in town. Quit feeding the energiser bunny and move on to better cameras is my recomendation and expert advice to you!

if ur batteries r charged & still not working, then try replacing them. if the problem continues then please take it to a service center to get the problem sorted out

Coolpix l18 no battery level indicator

The low-battery indicator only shows up when the battery level drops below a certain threshhold. Normally there is no indication on the screen of the battery status.

Frozen image on nikon coolpix L18

We were in the middle of taking pictures on our Nikon L18 and it was in continuous shot mode and the picture froze on the screen...I called tech support and they wanted me to turn the camera in so it could i fixed..it was a BRAND NEW CAMERA!!!!
yeah so we just took the batteries out and let it reset...see if that works.

Camera will not turn back on

Some cameras require special higher voltage lithium batteries to operate. Try lithium batteries before you assume your camera is broken.

hey dear you must have got the battery and charger along that charge those batteries for 8 hrs and then use coz nikon doesn't have LI ion battery so u have to charge the cells instead

I had the same problem, but I went to Lithium batteries..I received my camera for Christmas, got the batteries day after and have not had to change them as of yet.
