I own a HTC Touch Dec 2007 model. I want to change my handset now. However, there are loads of mesages saved in it. I know we can copy sms to sim but the sim can accomodate only 30 of them. Is there a way that i can copy/move text messages say about 100 in number to a PC/memory card?

you can transfer your text messages to your PC by installing a software on your PC called Jeyo Mobile Companion. download this software, install it and then connect your phone with the PC. once synchronized, you will be able to transfer all your text messages to your PC as a "Notepad" document! i hope this works for yah.. for your other question, go to start then settings, then "sounds and notifications", then go to the "notifications" tab, then in the "event" pull down menu select "messaging:new text message" and then check the "play sound" check box and then select any sound you would like. simple isn't it? ;)

Its probably your service provider that restricts that service to you. I have had instances where i can't send a message and i found out that i did not have that feature on my service plan. Otherwise you shouldn't have any problem sending and receiving messages. See if that helps.

There's a nice freeware program out there called PIM Backup. It's very popular with the phone geeks, though I've never tried it myself:
