Installing a CISCO 1200 access point. Everything works fine and I get access to our network and the internet with no encryption set. When I turn on WEP I get limited or no access on the wireless connection. What I did figure out was that without WEP the properties of the wireless connection show our network IP 192.-----. When I turn on WEP I get limited or no access and the properties of the wireless connection show a network of 169..... That is the problem but I can't figure out how to change it on the access point. I did enter the KEY in the laptop and it showed a connection.

How to reset password

To connect to your wireless router, the router's wireless settings needs to be configured with the SSID, encryption etc. and also the wireless cards in all the laptops/computers needs to be configured with these router's wireless settings. Then the laptops/desktop computers can communicate with your wireless router.
Connect a LAN cable from the Cisco - Linksys to the LAN port on your computer.
Open a browser and enter the Cisco - Linksys configuration URL
http://192.168.1.1
The default login = admin
The default PW = admin
You can protect your router by changing the default admin PW (write it down and put it in a safe place)
Go to the wireless configuration and set up the SSID and WPA or WPA2 encryption to protect your wireless network and Internet from unauthorized access.
Now apply these settings to the wireless card in your laptop/computer.
To secure your wireless network from unauthorized access, please click on this link and follow my instructions :-

CWA-854 as repeater

I couldn't manage to get the CWA-854 to work in repeater mode with WEP encryption enabled, but it is possible to use MAC Access Control even in repeater mode. Just put the CWA-854 in Access Point (AP) mode, add the MAC addresses you wish to allow in the Access Control tab and selecting Allow Listed from the pull-down menu, and then go back to the repeater configuration you posted. In this way, you may not have encryption, but you can still block others from connecting to your wireless network.
