My laptop screen will not centre onto my tv

You will need the remote for this function.

You may want to check your dispaly properties to make sure that your display is set to HDMI instead of laptop display in the control panel under display properties. On many laptops, this can be done by pressing the "fn" key and a key with a blue symbol of two screens on it. This toggles between your primary display and external ones.

never plug in hdmi when comp.is on you may burn your hdmi port

To connect an HDMI cable to your laptop, find the HDMI port on your computer. Take your HDMI cord, and plug it in. Then plug the other side into a TV. The laptop should automatically duplicate the screen onto the TV. If the video does not automatically duplicate, right click on your desktop background, and select "screen resolution." Select the second display, and set the Multiple display option to duplicate these displays.. If your audio is not coming through, right click on your volume control, and select "Playback Devices." Then set your HDMI as the default playback device.
Bare in mind that these instructions are specific for a Windows 7 laptop that has an HDMI port.

bet you they forgot to plug in the HDMI socket on the outside case of the laptop onto the motherboard of the laptop !

had experience of no sound on a tv that was repaired under warranty but could not fix it as I was not allowed under warranty to open the tv and plug in the sound cable to the mainboard. TV had to be sent back again for repair . and it ended up being the sound cable as I had pleaded with the manufacture to replug in without 6 weeks wait for the tv to be sent and repaired by a warranty repairer !

are you sure you have the correct drivers to run the HDMI plug on your laptop and also you could check the settings on the laptop to see if you have the correct display settings for it. i hope i have helped

-right click on the speaker icon on the system tray
-click on playback devices
-right click on hdmi icon
-click on set as default.

You will also have to get a sound cable which you will plug into the speaker bit of your laptop and the 2 rca connections into your tv they will be 1 red and 1 yellow

the cable is known as a Jack 2 rca audio cable

Connecting  an HDMI cable is not the only solution to share ur laptop screen over ur tv set

u've to change few settings from the laptop so that u can see or operate it from TV.

SImply go to ur Control Panel, Open Dipslay Properties, Go to Properties & select Displays. Then Identify & change ur default display from ur laptop display to ur HDMI Display. Its done
