There are several possible causes:1. The blades of the beater/s may be distorted (bent) 2. The beaters are in the wrong way round 3. The bottom tray is not seated down properly - there may be something in the central hole 4. The bowl may be damaged

HOW DO I MANUALLY LOWER BOWL IF MIXER WILL NOT START?

Trina you might be better off to contact Hobart or an authorised Hobart service agent about this. The lack of answers probably indicates resident hobart experts are absent.

Hi, I have a used Hobart A200T and the bowl yoke piece moves up and down slightly, even under a light load. It makes an annoying clanking noise. It's as if a spring somewhere is looser than it should be....

You may be correct about a loose spring. Check this:

Carefully lay the mixer on its back side to access the bottom of the mixer. Remove the cover screen covering the opening in the bottom of the mixer. Using an extension and appropriate socket, be sure the nut of the bowl lift rod is snug, slightly compressing the spring of the bowl lift rod.

Hobart mixer A200 Rotation

Assuming the unit is 120v, single phase, my money is on a bad electronic start switch (not to be confused with the on/off switch) It's not visible without some disassembly. Usually, it is located at the rear of the motor cavity. Take note of all the info on your model data plate then go here to obtain a parts breakdown on your particular mixer. http://www.hobartservice.com/Parts/

I'd suggest replacing the capacitor as well.

I'd advise that you contact your local Hobart Service Branch for guidance on that question. Please visit the service website at www.hobartservice.com and click on 'Locate an Office" - you'll be able to locate the closest Service Branch to you for advice. Hobart does also sell replacement parts to end users direct as well - through the local Service Branch.
