I just installed a Hunter five minute fan which says it is called the augusta. I have also installed several other hunter fans in my house through the years, and they seem to move extremely fast especially on high speed. This new one however cycles through three speeds both on the remote and with the pull chain and never seems to actually go that fast(not nearly as fast as my old ones). the box says its max speed is CFM*: 4,815, and CFM/watt is 86. any explanation for this would be great

Speed is not a factor in moving air. You can move air with a little fan that runs real fast or you can move the same amount of air with a big fan that moves slow.

It is the pitch of the blades that moves air. Big blades with steep pitch moving slow are comparable to little blades with shallow pitch that move fast.

It seems to me someone is trying to baffel you with bull**** when they tell you CFM = watts or something similar.

The real question is, is the fan moving the air necessary to achieve the result you desire? If yes, speed is not really a factor.

Let me know if this helps you.

How can I replace the receiver on hunter tribeca ceiling fan

The black & white on one end go to the house wiring. The other three go to the fan wiring. Black to black, white to white & connect last two wires together.

Lights come on at random .has a remote how to fix ?

The fan remote control receiver used in the Hunter 25730 model fan (see picture) is not available from Hunter. Remove the fan from the ceiling. Remove the receiver and take it to recycling. It can be replaced using a readily available and inexpensive replacement universal remote and receiver controller. There are limitations though. The Hunter receiver provided fan reversing functions. The universal controllers do not. You therefore have two options.

Option 1: The universal receiver can be installed such that the fan direction is fixed, either up or down, all other functions operate normally.

Option 2: A reversing switch can be purchased from Radio Shack for about $4 and installed in the fan. This does require cutting a square hole and drilling two bolt or rivet holes in the side of the cylindrical housing which previously housed the Hunter receiver. I'd suggest the Radio Shack DPDT slide switch part number 275-403.

Refer to the wiring diagrams and connector pinout diagram for connections. Please note that the connector pinout diagram is the connector that is soldered to the circuit board as shown in the photo of the Hunter receiver. If your motor wire colors are different then with the connector unplugged from the receiver use a multimeter to probe all the motor wires in order to identify two pairs of wires that indicate approximately 70 ohms each pair. These will be the motor windings. 6b0a1409-5a20-4efe-a059-c600652e9512.jpg 5da8e4ef-1b54-40d0-a8a4-21d4608b1d23.jpg 9fc8772d-3ac3-41b7-aa55-78ccc6e5ea00.jpg 0759e340-6464-4c4b-90f5-6d9926e74e42.jpg

Newly installed Hunter remote will work light and fan if only 2 of the 3 bulbs are installed.

Did you install the correct wattage? If you put in 2-60 watt try 3-40 watt instead .

Most likely this is caused by radio interference from some other device nearby. Try changing the "channel" by changing the dip switches on both devices and make sure they match. :)
