Bad Odor in Whirlpool Conquest Refrigerator

My refrigerator smells bad too. We just bought it about 1 month ago. I've taken everything out, cleaned it, but it still gives off a bad odor when you open the door. None of the food seems to smell on its own. Help!

Have had a bad odor in refrigerator for approx. a month. have cleaned out everything, but odor will not go away. Help!!

Same problem as sfpoe - since before Thanksgiving! Smells like either spoiled produce or stagnant water, but cannot find anything as the source. Our ice maker isn't hooked up, so not water should be in those tubes.

I purchased a Kitchenaid Refridgerator 6 months ago. I changed the filter at the bottom about 3 weeks ago. Ever since then, my refridgerator has a bad odor. I have completely cleaned the refridgerator and...

If you purchased this machine NEW 6 months ago, everything on it is under warranty. You should contact the selling dealer to verify you are entitled to a free service call. Changing the filter is routine maintenance and in no way should affect the warranty.

unplug fridge p\and pour some bleach in the freezer
it stinks but it will kill the smell
after 10 min or so take fridge to patio and hose her down water will not hurt the fridge it will however clear the drain lines
and it might be a good time to clean the coils and the colection tray under the back of the fridg any way

Bad smell from the back

Any drippings in back may cause a funny smell with water settling behind the refrigerator. Pull your refrigerator out from the wall and trace the smell. Maybe your waterline needs to be cleaned.

Odor that smells like gas going from the refrigerator

Mold and mildew can cause problems like this. It is even possible that a small animal may have invaded your home and gotten into the box somehow. Cleaning the inside of the box with a dilute bleach solution may help. For continuing odor absorption, place an open container, say a 1/4 cup, of baking soda (bicarbonate of soda) in the compartment. Change as often as once a week. The powder will absorb the odor.
