I have a Jazzy that we replaced the batteries on last year. It sat idle all summer and the batteries were dead. I used a trickle charger because the on board charge did not help. The batteries were fully charged, but the gauge by the reset button is not showing anything when I push it. The batteries are also losing the charge, even with the cord plugged in. Is this just the charger or does it have something to do with the reset button?

Some batteries has been stored for a long time and uncharged and even the aren't been used they are dead, try an other new battery. the one you have is probably dead. sorry.

Batteries that have been left in an uncharged state will sulfate the plates and render them useless. Only by removal of the sulfate will they be useful again. This is a
very expensive process only accomplished commercially.
Replace battery and keep it fully charged to prevent sulfation. This can be done using a battery maintainer not
to be confused with a trickle charger. Maintainer only charges battery when needed not all the time like a trickle
charger. A trickle charger will also cause a battery to become dry which also damages the cells.

2007 Suzuki 250 quad battery is dead doesn't have kick start. Had it on trickle charger for four days still dead. Can I use a jump starter on it if not what are the recommended battery replacement

Hey Michele,, if the original battery lasted this long.. you are lucky,, just replace it. >>> Always use the exact replacement battery<<<<... your quad is designed to take the exact size and amperage rating,, trying to change this is inviting too much trouble,, When you get a new battery,, it will be charged unless you purchase one online that comes with the acid pack,, EITHER WAY - put the battery on the trickle charger for 48 - 72 hours BEFORE you use it.. This will extend the life of the battery a bunch and make it a stronger battery,, ..(this is from too many years of experience.)

Tips for charging new batteries in Jazzy Select Traveller

Check the charger output to verify whether or not you have a bad charger using a voltmeter. These smaller batteries are notorious for having a short shelf life and poor quality control from the manufacturer. Load test the batteries after you verify you have a working charger that will bring the batteries up to the proper voltage first.

I believe i have a weak battery on my car when i tried starting the car after it had sat a month it was dead. I boosted it and it started and run fine. I bought a trickle charger and put it on the battery....

The charger shouldn't have hurt the battery but corrosion is caused by fumes from the battery being charged or used. If you know the cable ends are clear, the battery probably has a dead cell and will need replaced. Most parts stores will do a load test on the battery for free.

Heres a tech Tip ,9/10 battery chargers cannot bring up a pair of dead battery's.In our case Larry thats whats happening here. There isnt enough power in the batterys to turn your charger on.
Here are some steps in testing your charger ..
1) Take the two batterys out of the scooter
2) Find your self a battery charger that you can set at a trickle charge ,this setting charges at a very low voltage
3) Trickle charge each battery to a least 50%
4) Install the batterys back into the scooter
5) Plug in your charger
Now in doing this your charger should kick on for a while ,dont worry if it shuts off .The batterys being bad is the reason for it shutting off ,we are just testing to see if your charger is working.

This should keep you out of the shop.good luck
