This is the Power On Sequence

Power-on sequence
The power-on sequence is for the purpose of the printer initialization and checking for possible malfunctions.

The following is the sequence from when the printer is turned on until it enters STBY mode.

  1. Power on
  2. Central processing unit (CPU) initialization
  3. ASIC initialization
  4. Video interface communication start
  5. Residual paper check by each sensor signalling paper presence
  6. Initial drive for main motor, pickup motor, and fuser/delivery motor
  7. Fuser heater initial drive by controlling fuser temperature targeting for 100°?C
  8. Initial drive for scanner motor
  9. Failure/Abnormality check
    • Detect scanner failure
    • Fuser failure
    • Door open during the above periods
  10. Communication with memory tag
  11. Cartridge presence detection
Main motor failure detection
The CPU determines the main motor failure, stops the printer, and notifies the formatter of error
status, when it encounters the following conditions.

  1. Main motor start-up abnormality.
The interval of the MAIN MOTOR SPEED DETECTION signal (/MAINMFG) does not become the specified interval after 1000 ms of the main motor drive start.
  1. Main motor rotation abnormality. The interval of the /MAINMFG signal stays at an irregular interval for 100 ms and longer after once it has become the specified interval.
Fan motor failure detection
The CPU determines the fan motor failure and notifies the formatter when it encounters the following
condition.

The FAN LOCK signal (FANLCK) is “H” for approximately 10 seconds and longer during fan motor
rotation.

Your description makes it sound as though the printer has a main CPU failure as all other faults should display an error or error code. In the light of this it seems that the printer will need to be looked at by a service engineer asap.

HP CLJ 5500

If you mean toner, you can probably do it, but most new printers have a memory chip on the cartridge which keeps track of toner. Adding toner will not change the count and the printer will ignore the new toner

Can I get borderless printouts with HP CLJ 2600? I have had a look into the manual, but could not find an answer. Thanks in advance for a quick reply. /Tomas

It is never possible to print borderless on a laserprinter. It wil pollute your printer and causes problems. The only way is to print on a larger area and cut your printed paper afterwards.

My printer has two cartriges that are empty would that prevent it from printing ?

Yes the HP CLJ 2600n printer will stop printing when a toner cartridge registers as empty. The cartridges will have to be replaced or You could use the "overide out" option. This allows continued printing even though the supply registers as empty. Beware that diagnosing print quality problems because of toner becomes more difficult.

Overide Out
To change this go to the PRINT QUALITY menu then REPLACE SUPPLIES and change the setting from "stop at out" to "overide out".

50.9 FUSER ERROR

The fuser is the part that melts the toner onto the page, the error is thrown by a sensor which monitors the fuser, powering off unplugging and waiting for the fuser to cool (about 25 minutes, dont test it by touching it) before turning back on the printer will fully reset the sensor and may get you going again however this wont fix a fault with the fuser. However the fuser is a consumable which means they can be purchased and fitted by the end user (Not cheap parts), I always recommend that you users buy from the manufacture as they will stand over any item they sell you plus advise on instalation and problems however check prices on-line first and make your own call

HP 2600n printer

1-st of all remove the dark blue/gray top cover - from the back/top of the printer there are in L and R side 2 holes. Stick a slim screwdriver to release boath locks and lift it up. Under this cover U'll find 4 scrwes. Before lifting the white cover remove the R printer cover for removing the control panel cable. Once U remove the white top cover U can access the fusssing assambley.
Good luck.
