Sony bravia sreen looks shattered on the right side

Back-light problem. Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis.

My screen was hit with a doorknob and has a crack

It's cheaper to buy a whole new TV. I recently acquired a similar TV with a broken screen thinkink I could get a screen cheaper than a whole new TV. I found out different. If you find a place to get a screen cheaper than a new TV I would like to know about it.

Sony bravia 46in z-series with shattered screen, would it be cove

Typically a shattered screen means that something hit it. This would not be covered under warranty. If the panel were to fail under normal working circumstances, it would be covered. Warranties for any type of product cover manufacturing defects NOT physical damage.

Sorry,

Dan

LCD TV Model LNS3238DX/XAA, S/N AFQ3CRL800704D, Version AM01

Unfortunately this indicates that the LCD panel itself is cracked. This can not be repaired, only replaced. Call around to get a cost of the replacement panel. It would not surprise me to find that the replacement panel cost exceeds the cost of an entire replacement TV.
