I want to buy the Char-Griller Duo gas and Charcoal Grill Model 5050 that only comes as LP. I have natural gas and want to know if there is a conversion kit, or fix. Guy at Lowes told me that Jen Air makes one...?
I removed the jets and drilled them out, #54 is what I started with and then moved up from there to get a good flame( gas pressure may be diffrent in your area). I went to lowes and purchased the universal gas line for grills. Item #: 206469 from lowes, I removed the hoses from the valves, and proceeded to remove the regulator from the hose. After that, i used a 1/4" npt coupling, and a 1/4/" NPT to 3/8" Flare fitting( fits to hose).
I drilled a hole in the brace that is under the clamshell(it says UP) that way I had a place to relive stress from the hoses. I threaded the Coupler to the Y then threaded the Flare fitting thru the sheet metal and then the coupling. This was an easy mod minus the garage in disarray, my precision calipers on loan, and 3 trips to the hardware store. The connection that goes to the house is a 3/8" NPT Female, my house has 1/2" pipe, The one wasted trip to the store is because i didnt bring the fitting with me to the store and assumed the size was 1/2 to 3/4(Rookie Mistake).
It was 35 degrees when I finished this mod, and on high for all 3 burners, I got it to 675F in a hurry. the needle was still creepin up, but that is when I said that was good enough for me.
I used my lathe to drill out the jets, ksware is correct with how easy the jets break. I broke the one in the side burner. I will make another one when I get an hour or two. Good luck to you and happy grilling.

I drilled out the orifices on the grill burner knobs with a #52 wire gauge bit, and the orifice on the side burner with a #53 wire gauge bit. Drill them while installed in their fixtures, as they are easy to break if tightened too much. Go to Home Depot and buy 2 flexible 3/8 "gas appliance" hoses and a 3/8 copper tee. Mine works perfectly and for a minimal investment. You should know your "inches of water column" gas pressure, as they vary. I used this guide http://www.grillparts.com/howto/btu_guide.htm. Although this is what I did on mine, you are on your own. I am just a regular old, tinkering dude and accept no responsibility for any damages incurred.
+1 for more info. Thanks!
What is a #52 drill bit in inch measurement? 1/32 for example, the guy at my lowes looked at me with utter confusion when I asked for #52 drill bit and pointed me back to the drill bit area.
