I have just bought a Giant Expression and need a 3 spd manual

What sort of hub is it? The one that runs in oil is the Alfine - the others are greased, in my experience, although there is an dealer-approved means of refreshing the grease in a Nexus hub by dunking the internals into oil.
The Alfine 11 speed needs 25cc of Shimano SG-5700 oil assuming all the old oil has been drained first. This is according to a Koga Miyata manual for a bike that uses this hub.

how do I Remove a shimano crank from a giant terrago MTB? On a normal crank puller the small thread is 12 MM diameter, but on this bike the interior thread of the crank itself only fits on 10MM

The left side is left threaded.

You'll probably need some special tools - or take it to a bike shop and let them deal with it.

SPD hold on to cleats with a spring loaded action. This is normally adjusted with an allen key. Check that this is not screwed in so tight that action is locked up. If you don't have adjustment instructions go to shimano.com and download. You should be able to check for movement by pushing against spring clip with screwdriver (saves the fingers but mind it doesn't slip). If no movement also check for foreign body in pivot of clip. If all OK check for position of cleat in shoe. Make sure mount position is same as other shoe.

Although i have not worked on a Nexus hub, Shimano's tech sheet page has your info. The Nexus drivetrain is found on the fourth category on the left (Comfort), and the hubs are 2/3 of the way down the page under "SG Internally Geared Hubs". i was not sure which one was yours (there are quite a few!), so i figured it best to just pass on the site to you.
