The remote fax machine might be defective.

Solutions

Try to verify this by sending the same fax to other fax machines. If these transmissions are successful, then notify the user of the remote machine to make them aware of the issue.
If the fax fails when sending to other machines, turn it off for 10 seconds, turn back on, and then try sending again.

To activate it you should install the fax program. this will require that you register your fax adress.
this is a requirement of utilizing the system of sending and recieving Fax.
Just fill in the information as requested, and it will register your Fax adress.
As soon as you hav ecompleted this,you will be able to send and recieve fax,
and no more error messages, unless ther is a technical problem.

press the setup button and scroll down to tools.
in tools there should be an option that says run fax test.
that would give you a printed page as to which part of the hardware of the printer or the fax line failed.

Definition

There is too much noise on the line for a valid connection between two fax machines to complete. The noise problem might go away over time.

Solution

Retry the fax reception at a different time when telephone line conditions have improved. Call the telephone provider if line conditions fail to improve.

Just bought and install fax machine (MFC640cw) I can send faxes but cannot recieve any. Phone rings, it recieves but it does not print.

It was installed on a VOIP connection. The Modem speed was changed to BASIC (9600 bps) which turns the error correction mode (ECM) off. Standard speed -14400 bps which may creat errors.
Steps: Menu/set - Fax - Miscellaneous - Compatibility - BASIC - Menu/set - Stop/Exit

3150 fax machine outputs a blank page when my fax sends to it

(05) Would you, please, SEND a fax from the machine that blank faxes are being received from to a different recipient on a different fax machine all together, please?

This will enable us to pin down which machine is really experiencing the issue.

Canon fax 2060P not recieving faxes

It seems that the protocol is failing. Just check, by printing a receive report. If there are errors it is after the check frame. If no errors, it is failing before the check frame. In either case, 1st aid is to listen using a handset for noise or static on the line. If the line is clear, then you will have to call service to change the tx/rx attenuation.
