Are you sure it's the ice maker that's leaking? We have this model & ours accumulates a HUGE iceberg in the bottom of the freezer, but the water seems to be coming out of the back, at the bottom of the back panel, where the vents are.
Your drain line is clogged, that is located behind the white wall inside of the freezer. The water comes from defrost cycle, that happens every 8-12 hours. You need to defrost it and snake it. Maytag refrigerator repair in Orange County, CA
Drain system is clogged.
Clean the drain tray and drain line in the back of the freezer section, located
behind
the back cover and underneath the evaporator coil. (hint: use turkey
baster with
hot water)
Make sure water drains when you
pour it in. If it doesn't - also clean drain tube on the back of the
unit behind the cover. When done - make sure to put the tube exactly
where it was.
The drain for the defrost is blocked, probably with ice. If drain is frozen it will need to be defrosted, and a heat probe attached to the heat element and down through the drain hole. If not frozen there could be blockage in the drain cup depending on the model.
take all the bottom shelves and baskets out of the freezer. look at the back wall of the freezer. youll see a block of ice in a metal pan looking part at the bottom of the rear panel. there is a hole in the bottom of that pan. thats the defrost drain. its clogged. use a hair dryer to get all the ice out then use hot water to flush out the drain hole.
