My blu ray player on my acer aspire 6920g system doesnt seem to detect any Blu ray disc i out in. I've tried changing region settings and have only 3 more try's left. It just asks me to insert a cd when i try to play a video on the arcade deluxe program that came along with the lapop.

Check current region code
Open the Philips HOME Screen
Type on your remote: 8520
This will display all of the current settings for your player.
Example: Region_Code: DVD(2) BD(B)Change region code
Turn on player with no disk inserted
Press "Open/Close" on the remote control until the tray is open
Press 8689310 - 0 means all region
Press 8689311 - 1 means region 1,
Press 8689312 - 2 means region 2,
Press 8689313 - 3 means region 3,
Press 8689314 - 4 means region 4,
Press 8689315 - 5 means region 5,
Press 8689316 - 6 means region 6.
Now the front Buttons might not work!
Go to SETUP and click on RESET FACTORY SETTINGS
Wait until the player restarts and now you can play all DVD regions

there so so many reason why does not detect a blueray disc after you switching windows 7
1st may be your cd/dvd driver have a problem,
(solution) try to use other cd/dvd driver
2nd may be the window 7 installer you've use have a missing file.
(solution) try to re install the o.s but dont use the same cd you've use try other installer.
3rd your blueray disc is the problem
(solution) use your blue ray disc in other p.c window xp if running in xp try to use other pc using a window 7, if running in other unit may be your pc need to upgrade.

Please follow the steps : To change the player region code
1. Be sure players drive is empty (nodISC)
2. Enter following key sequence using remote control:

Enter, 6, >=10, <<, 00F2, Audio, 8, * requested region code here (1-8) *, Subtitle, 1

3. Player will reset and requested region code will be set.
- For example to set region code to 3 press: "Enter, 6, >=10, <<, 00F2, Audio, 8, 3, Subtitle, 1"

To set the player to RCE proof region free
1. Be sure players drive is empty (nodISC)
2. Enter following key sequence using remote control:

Enter, 6, >=10, <<, 00F2, Audio, 8, 1, Subtitle, 4

3. Player will reset and set to "region-free" and "RCE-free" mode

To restore players factory region code
1. Be sure players drive is empty (nodISC)
2. Enter following key sequence using remote control:

Enter, 6, >=10, <<, 00F2, Audio, 8, 9, Subtitle, 1

3. Player will reset and set to factory region code

Hi, I have a 5536, Although they have Blu ray on the sticker, they do not have a blu ray player. Sorry.

Download software like region free dvd player then check

From what I have researched, your laptop should have come with software to play Blu ray - such as Intervideo WinDVD BR

The software is not available to the public and only comes with such laptops and blu ray drives.
