Last night we came home and the GA Power truck was in our lawn, working on a transformer. all power to tyhe house was off, after power was restore, none of our electronics would work, we noticed a burnt smell on the circuit protector, unplugged from protector and plugged into outlet. No power to TV, the wall outlet its working propertley, (checked with tester) still TV will not come on. Is there an internal reset button on this unit? if not, what else can I do? Thanks Tony

This could be several things, but most likely a burned loose resistor or bad solder joint. All of which causes an inoperative power supply with the result of having a "dead" set. It would have to be checked out to find the problem. Stargazer

Chances are if the internal fuse and magnetron thermostat are good, then you have a circuit board that needs repair.
You can probably find exploded views at the Sears parts site. If you find a bad thermostat, the best place to order Sharp parts is Tritronics.
We regularly repair these control panels for customers nationwide (RV owners & dealers, too) with our guaranteed $39.95 service.

SOURCE: shut off itself
sounds like you might have an auto overvoltage shutdown circuit kicking in. The hivoltage goes to high and the monitoring circuit auto shuts down. More than likely trouble is in hivoltage circuitry. If you have a transformer that will allow you to bring up the set slowly without shutting down and you can look to see what's happening.
SOURCE: Remote control for Sharp TV
Hold down the tamper proof button on your remote for up to ten
seconds, until the tamper proof light will blink and light
will go off. This will turn off the Tamper Proof button.
Let me know how it goes.
