How is that possible that even if my computer works with external electicity it turns off? It says that the battery is dying.... I, ve changed three chargers and the problem is still there... is the battery the problem? DO I have to change that?

  • alejandro_90 Sep 19, 2009

Thanks a lot for your help! I've taken out the battery and now it works!!! Thank you!!!

How old is the battery? Try this...remove battery and see if it will run from the AC charger alone. If so, you probably just sorted out the problem.

It basically means the battery has outlived it's use and can no longer hold a charge. Even though the charger is hooked up you will still need a new battery to get away from this problem. Once the new battery is installed and charged this error should disappear. Hope this helps.

I have a EPIA-M mainboard that beeps continuously (2 sec. beep - 1 sec interval). No image on screen. Backup battery is new. Please advise.

There is three possible solutions, one is that ram memory is gone bad, second that motherboard is a kids game all things integrated and is possible that motherboard is going to be dead soon. third possible is power supply. Also VIA and SYS motherboards die with no reason whatsoever If you did something to your motherboard, change the jumpers position or change the battery maybe you did something wrong. Even if you had some static electricity inside your body you could burn motherboard. And also you didn't say is there anything else new that you put inside your computer? Such as graphics card or maybe you change ram?

2006 ram wont turn over, washed my key an tried to start with out the battiery in key, started for a second then died tried too more times, now it wont even turn over

FUSES FIRST. Try to obtain a scan tool and pull any codes. Then possibly- computer may not be receiving a signal from a sensor and therefore won't start. I would check the 5vdc voltage to and from the crank sensor and the camshaft sensor and the pick-up coil sensors. These three sensors have high failure rates. Free testing of these units is available at local parts stores for the DIY. If OK, I would continue with an Elect Diagram and follow the voltage to other componets. Good Luck.

My laptop won't turn on even though it's plugged into the recharg

Try removing the battery and running the laptop just on the p/s. If it works like this the battery is dead. Otherwise the laptop has a problem.

If the battery is dead, buy a new battery or run it on p/s alone.

Laptops should be run on battery alone as much as possible, or the battery dies.

Gateway MT3421 Laptop start-up Issues

Start by removing the battery completely, and plugging the power cord into the wall socket. If the power indicator light comes on at the converter on the cord, your power cord is fine. Then plug the power cord into the computer. If the computer starts up you know the power cord connection on the computer is not the problem. Now witrh the power cord plugged in install the battery if the needs charge light comes on you probably do need a new battery as the cells often do go dead after a period of time and wont hold a charge, this will cause the LCD screen to go black or gray, but NOT BLUE. Borrow a friends monitor and plug it into your computer as an external monitor and press the function key to toggle to external monitor. Now try to restart, if screen shows activity you can atleast check out your computer. You may want to test your connections andf then itry placing your hard drive into another similar computer and see if the same thing happens, if it does your hard drive may have a failure. You can transfer all the info from your hard drive to an external drive through a patch cable available online at circuit city for between $7-25. The two that are most useful are the CTG Laptop to IDE Hard drive adapter item C184-17705 and the Ultras USB 2.0 to IDE/SATA cable adapter item UL740112 depending on what type of hard drive connections you have. Once you transfer your information to an external you can try to restore your computer using the original system restore disk that came with the computer. Set to boot from disk and away you go... If this does not work you may have a bad hard drive or possibly the mother board. If the mother board is bad you may want to just keep the computer for spare parts as it might not be worth the cost of repairs. If it is the hard drive you can get good quality Hitachi Harddrives reasonable (for less than $90 for upto 600 GIGS on line again at circuit city without any shipping cost and will have it within a couple of days.
Hope this helps.
