If no ice build up on back wall of freezer then you may have a refrigerant leak causing the less than ideal situation with freezer. Need to locate and repair leak and fill to specs to get proper cooling.

FREEZER KEEPS WORKING NOT REFRIG

Yes, the defrost thermistat turns the element of when temps reach about 50 degrees F. The adaptive defrost tell the fridge to go into defrost. When the ice melts the defrost thermistat turns the element off.Whe can check the defrost thermistat if you like.
Your refrigerator has a adaptive defrost board inside the fresh food compartment hiding behind the control panel. That would be the first thing to consider that may be bad. But you also said you manually defrosted the refrigerator and it began doing this again about a month later. Take the model number and enter it in the search feature for model at it will take you to a page so we can look at the same refrigerator and work together to fins the answer. Below is a link click on that to look over your model. The adaptive defrost part number is 61005988
Let me know when you are ready, Thanks, Sea Breeze

It is also possible the defrost thermostat is defective or a problem with a defrost element. Did you cange both element whith new defrost thermistat? Part number 61006199

REFRIGERATOR BOTTOM IS NOT COLD.

OK that number is good, Frigidaire model GLRT13TEB3 Sometimes the freezer section appears to be cold enough but you may need to check it if we don't find the problem soon. If your freezer is not defrosting properly it will restrict air flow to the fresh food section and that make us think that's the only problem. Your refrigerator has a defrost timer located inside the fresh food section behind the thermostat control cover. Unplug the refrigerator and open back of the freezer compartment to expose the evaporator coil. If covered with ice or frost this will be considered to be something wrong with defrost circuit. First we check timer, then element and then the defrost thermistat. Let me know what you find after you expose the evaoprator. Thanks, Sea Breeze

MATAG FRIG PTB2153GR FREEZER DOES NOT GET COLDER THAN 38 DEGREES F

Try turning the defrost timer clockwise until you hear it click. If defrost element and defrost thermostat are working properly, the refrigerator should begin to defrost. The timer is located inside the fresh food compartment behind plastic controls cover and also near the thermistat control.beb686d.jpg .I will be around if you need, just let me know,Sea Breeze
