Manual for WBR14-G2 router [6.2 MB] in pdf format:
http://www.smc.com/files/AG/MN_SMCWBR14-G2.pdf

Keeping others from connecting to your router:
1. Have an "wired only" router login access or for this router "change and disable your SSID". This way you avoid that others can login to
to the router changing your settings: See page 48 of the manual.
1.1 Wireless Network Name (SSID): change the default name SMC
to "any private name" ( and remember for later login )
1.2 Broadcast Wireless Network Name: change from default ENABLE
to DISABLE .

2. Make a secure wireless encryption key for your connection:
see page 87.
2.1 For most secure key select WPA / WPA2 only and SAVE SETTINGS .
2.2 See page 91 for entering and saving your secure key: the password
that must be entered to get access to the router.

What's the defauit password

Most times the default password is admin or left blank. Read your manual to find out for sure.

Get online and got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "SMC Support" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operating system when requested. Look for Manuals.

According to your manual the default password is: smcadmin (All small letters)

Op de SMCWBR14-G2 sttat geen reset toets op. Hoe kan ik deze router dan resetten?

Probeer:

Well, once reset you will need to login to the interface and resetup all the connection information. You can do that from the WEB interface just logon and reset. No special software (except a web browser) is needed.
I think the SMC default address is http://192.168.2.1 just log on and set it up. Resetting just restores the factory defaults, it does not erase the system.

Rarely does a router need software on a computer. Even the linksys that have a big sticker USE CD FIRST -- its only there for those who don't understand routers!

I just set up my SMC WBR14S-N4 Barricade N router yesterday and I think I did something wrong in the initial settings due to the fact that the router can only connect to one wireless device while the other...

change the channel num of the wireless. Log into the router, then go to wireless settings on the top and go to advanced on the left hand side.. changed the frequency channel to channel 6 or 11..

In wireless basic settings, the access policy must be DISABLED.

If still doesn't work, try to change the network name and security mode as OPEN, encrypt WEP and Default key : 1, them type 10 digit num in key 1...

Must work.. All d best..
