I forgot my HTC 8525 password please help

To perform a hard reset
-Power the device OFF.
-Press and hold the left and right Soft Keys
(which are the 2 soft buttons are the top buttons on the front of the 8525 that have only a dash mark on them)
while doing that with the stylus lightly press and hold the RESET button

There are two ways:
1) If your device is not frozen, navigate to Select Start > Settings > System > Clear Storage and type in 1234 in the text box. This will erase everything you installed and restore the phone to your last ROM flash.
2) If your device is non-functional, press the two soft keys under the touchscreen (the topmost buttons under the touchscreen) while simultaneously pressing the soft reset button by inserting the stylus into the reset port at the bottom of the phone. This performs the same function as option 1.
