Can I Connect my Wii to my tiscali Sagem Modem?

I have a spare tiscali sagem modem using Bt landline in the UK can I connect a Wii LAN addapter as its only outlet is USB? Is there an available cable to patch the two together? Can this be done or would I have to get a wireless modem? Just want to be able to plug straight from Land line filter plug to modem to Wii is this possible? Not using computer at all.

Sorry, LAN feeds are one way.the wii should have an internal wireless card for net connections though, assuming you have a wireless modem.

I have internet through cable.it runs through the sb5101u surfboard motorola modem. i bought the lan adaptor to go to the wii, for netflix, but it won't connect to the internet. error code 52020

Here is the solution from nintendo:

  1. Power off the Wii. Connect the official Nintendo Wii LAN adapter to the Wii, and insert a working ethernet cable into the official Nintendo Wii LAN Adapter.
  2. Unplug all devices from your modem. Most modems are unable to support more than one device at a time.
  3. Power cycle your modem. To do this, unplug the power from your modem and let it rest for 20 seconds. Plug the power back in. Connect the Ethernet cable from your Wii console to the Ethernet port on your modem.
  4. If the connection test fails, try a "Manual Setup" with the Wii console (how to), using your network's IP address, Default Gateway, Subnet Mask, and DNS information. To access these settings:
    1. On your PC, click "Start" and then "Run."
    2. Type "CMD" into the field that appears to open a new window.
    3. Type "IPCONFIG/ALL" and press "Enter" to display a list of internet settings, including the settings listed above. Input theseexactly as they're listed into the "Manual Setup" of the Wii console's internet connection.
  5. If you are still unable to connect and you are using broadband Internet, then your ISP likely uses PPPoE to establish a connection to their network. The Wii is not compatible with PPPoE. Contact your ISP for more assistance.

Acer Travelmate 250 wireless problem

Dear carlosdperez,
When you try to connect to the internet, you must create the new internet connection first, this because you use the difrerent hardware or modem to connect to the net. All you have to do is configure the new connection use your UK SKY Sagem modem and fill all the required input include your dial up number and so on. This is HOW:

Start Menu>Connect To>Show All Connection>Create The New Connection>>>> Follow the wizard>PRESS Next>Connect To Internet>Setup Connection Manually>Choose your Hardware/Modem (UK SKY Sagem Modem)>Use Dial Up Modem>Enter Your Connection Name>Enter Your dial-up Numbers>Enter Your Passwords>Confirm>DONE.

Since it succeeded, you should see the new connection on Start Menu>Connect To>>>

Good Luck!
Best Regards,

ZyXEL adsl wirless modem router P660HW

To bring up the blue screen you need to open internet explorer (or whatever) and type the ip address given. In my book it says 192.168.1.1 after that you should get the blue screen. You can set up the connection then.

Setting up linksys adsl2 modem

The ADSL, Ethernet, and USB ports are located at the back of a Linksys modem. These ports are where the phone cable and computer will be connected. The ADSL Line should be connected to the ADSL port and the computer either be connected to Ethernet or the USB port., If u r using a ethernet cable no need to run the setup cd just connect the ethernet cable and contact ur isp..
do not worry about ur sagem modem, let it be inside.. just connect ethernet cables alone..

To setup a Linksys ADSL Modem with usb cable you need to perform two steps:
  1. Connecting the Devices Together
  2. Installing the USB Driver
Connecting the Devices Together
Step 1:
Connect the phone cable to the wall jack with ADSL service and then connect the other end to the ADSL port of the modem.
Step 2:
Make sure the power adapter is plugged to an available power outlet.
Step 3:
Connect the USB to the USB port on the back of the modem and then connect the other end top the USB port of the computer.
Step 4:
Power on the modem. After connecting the device together, install the USB driver. For instructions, follow the steps below.
Installing the USB Driver
Step 1:
Power on the computer.
Step 2:
When the Hardware Update Wizard window appears. Click Install the software automatically (Recommended).
NOTE: Windows XP has pre-installed drivers for the ADSL2MUE and will automatically install the USB driver for the modem.
Step 3:
Click Finish.

No connection

what you should have bought was a ADSL modem/router, but if you only have a router, try the following:- go to the TCP/IP properties of your network card and ensure that it is set as obtain ip address automatically, restart the pc. Connect modem to the router then connect your router via rj45 cable to your pc, then type 192.168.1.254(This should be the default gateway) into your internet browser to get to the router settings. Look for DHCP and enable it to give your pc an automatic ip address and save settings. You should now have a 100MBPS connection to the router, if you have got a modem router ensure that you have the correct Tiscali settings inputed.
