Several questions on FIXYA in the past may be relevant, depending upon what happens before seeing the f51 code:

SOURCE:My dishwasher keeps telling me F51 cannot find
On Miele F51 is pressure switch error.
The pressure switch is located in the drain system. Its function is determining if there is water inside the tub.
Trip the circuit breaker or disconnect the power cord for a couple of minutes. Inspect the drain system for blockage. The pressure switch can be tested by a technician bypassing it.
To get parts or repair service, call the number listed on the user manual.

hi,
F51 fault is more than likely the heater relay is faulty but it could be your circulation pump is jammed up. if you are confident you can easily replace the replace the relay if it is faulty. you would need to put a meter across the terminals. if it is ok then the pump is blocked. if you are not confident you would require a service call. Miele have there own deadicated service team if you live in a metro area
hope this helps.

SOURCE: F13 error code on Miele dishwasher. I can't find
The water valve on Miele dishwashers is built into the end of the water line where it hooks into your plumbing(in that box-looking assembly) Your best bet is to call Miele USA, I have had very good luck with their customer support system, they can usually diagnose your problem right over the phone.
