Cannon MP145, I want to only scan not printing.

The catridge in the print is over and i removed the catridge. I dont want printing. I want only scanning. How to do that.
I tried scanning, it says ''Printer maintenance is in progress. try scanning after that''
Please provide solution for this at the earliest. Thank you.

There is no solution for that, if you want only scanning, you need a separate scanner. This machine will only scan when all other errors are taken care of. And all inks are full.

hi,

As you dont want to use the colour ink,When you give the print command you wil get the print properties page ,In that you can select black and white so that you wil not use up the colour catridge. It uses black catridge only.

There is a setting that can be accessed via your computer under printer set up. It sounds like the printer has been set up for monochromatic prints.

try this PRESS STOP BUTTON FOR 5 SEC CAN FIX THIS PROBLEM

after that will adicated light alarm blinking them you can print if can't try turn off printer and turn on again.

My colour ink catridge is empty, but I do not want to use it. Is there a way to overide using colour ink?

Hello,
You can go to the printer settings (Start, Printers and Faxes, rightclick on printer and click Properties).
Click on Printing Preferences and in there should have a setting to print Black & White only.
