Adjustments
LARGEHEXWRENCH
TO REPLACeTHE BLADE
See Figures 43 - 45.
 Unplug the saw.
 Lower the saw blade, raise the blade guard, and remove the throat plate.
 Make sure the bevel locking lever is securely pushed to the left. Raise the saw blade to its full height by turning the height/bevel adjusting handwheel clockwise.
 Using the smaller hex wrench, insert the flat open end into the flats on the arbor shaft.
 Insert the closed end of the larger hex wrench over the hex nut. Holding both wrenches firmly, pull the larger wrench forward to the front of the machine. Make sure the blade nut is securely tightened. Do not overtighten.
Check all clearances for free blade rotation. See To Set the Scale to the Blade. In cutting operations, the scale will be set to the side of the blade where the cut will be measured and made.
To replace the blade with an accessory blade, follow the instructions provided with the accessory.
To install a standard blade:
 Place the new blade on the arbor shaft (the teeth must point down toward the front of the saw to work properly).
 Place the blade washer and the blade nut over the blade arbor. Be sure the dome side of the blade washer faces out from the blade and that all items are snug against the arbor housing. Tighten securely.

Unplug the saw. Remove the table blade plate. Wege a 24" long 2"x 2" against the blade teeth and the saw table to prevent the blade from turning. With a wrench remove the blade clamping nut. Remove flat washer and blade. Install new blade in reverse order.

Sabre saw- craftsman - 17256 - change blades

This saw uses a tool-free blade change. 1. Unplug the jigsaw 2. Place your finger on the lower edge of the see through blade guard, and pull it forward until it locks up in place 3. Lift the tool-free blade change holder (bright yellow piece above the blade), and insert the blade into the slot of the tool-free blade change holder. 4. Release the tool-free blade change holder to lock the blade in place. 5. Pull down on the blade to verify that the blade is securely locked in place. The teeth of the blade should be pointing forward and down. 5. Put the blade guard back down.
You can use with both 'T' & 'U' shanked blades.

How do I change the saw blade on my 2 hp 7 1/4 saw?

If the saw doesn't have a locking mechanism for changing the blade then you will have to jam a piece of wood in the teeth of the blade so that it cannot turn. Remember safety first. Ensure the saw is unplugged and wear leather gloves when changing the blade. Use a socket or wrench to loosen the nut that holds the blade on and remove the blade. Use the reverse procedure to tighten the blade.

Looking for shaft lock to change the blade on MK 170 wet saw

Just use a rag and grab the blade. Unless the threads are messed up you don't have to hold the arbor still, just the blade.

Need to change saw blade, lost instructions

1st, !!UNPLUG the saw!! Wear gloves to prevent nicks from contact with the saw blades.
If this is a handheld 'skill-saw' type saw, use a piece of wood to chock the saw blade from turning as you use a proper size socket/wrench to loosen the bolt which holds the blade.
The bolt will loosen counter-clock wise. It will probably be very tight, and you will have to use some effort to loosen it.
Remove the bolt, lift the follow guard and remove the blade.
Replace the blade with a like size diameter blade by raising the follow guard, inserting the blade, replacing the bolt, using a piece of wood to keep the blade from rotating and TIGHTEN the bolt. You will almost feel as if you need three hands to accomplish this procedure but its been done millions of successful times.

Good luck. :)
