Power Button Can you turn on my Prive television without the remote? Can't seem to find the power button anywhere on the T.V. itself.

Perhaps the power supply or just the power switch is defect?
There can be so many causes. Without having the system on my bench, connected to some measurement tools, I could not tell you what is wrong. And I'm a skilled technical engineer, repairing electronics for over 40 years.

1. id suggest resetting the tv by:
   
   
   Press and hold the up arrow on the remote. Make sure that the remote is facing the television and is not obstructed

Press the power button on the Sony TV. Press the button on the television itself, not the power button on the remote. You can release the up arrow after you press the power button. The television will power off and then power itself back on with all of the settings reset to their original factory defaults.

Step 2
Press and hold the "up arrow" button on the remote control. The up arrow button is located in the middle of the remote, to the left of the "Input" button and below the "Picture" button.

Step 3
Press the power button on the TV while still holding down the up arrow button. The TV will turn off and then turn itself back on.

Step 4
Release the up arrow button. Once the TV turns itself back on, it will restore your TV to its factory settings.

YOU WILL HAVE TO REPLACE THE POWER SUPPLY IN THE TV

You have a bad Main bd. Have a trained Samsung tech repolace the Main bd.

Don't use the power button on the t.v. itself to turn power on or off. Use the remote. The power button actually gets "stuck" and causes the t.v. to turn on and off, seemingly at its own accord. Make sure the button is all the way out and flush with the cabinet, then just use the remote to power on/off. Hope this helps.

Please check with the channel buttons of your unit. They replace the power buttons functions.

If the set will not turn on with the power button on the front of the set, you must then try turning it on with the remote. You must be sure that the remote is working correctly. If the set turns on with the remote, then your power button itself is bad or has cracked loose. This is easily fixed without having to replace the board. If the set does not turn on with a working remote, then something inside the set has failed and it should be serviced by a qualified tech.
