Most shower valves have an allen wrench style set screw to lock it in place. You can also search here, https://riobel.ca/en/support/repair-guides, for a solution.
After you use the diverter to get the water to the shower head, you leave it alone. When you turn the water off the diverter will automatically go back to its default position of faucet.
If you will make contact with George at M-One-Specialites he can track that down for you and help you get that fixed. He has a very extensive list of repair parts for faucets.
If you pull the silver knob on the tub spout up, the diverter located located inside will redirect water up to the shower head and when lowered it will return the water to the tub spout. It sounds as thought the diverter is not working properly. Hope this helps..
I had the same problem. I discovered that an O ring was missing (or I lost it without noticing) from a new diverter that I installed. Just got an O ring that fits on the threaded part of the collar where it meets the pipe. Worked fine. Amazing how a little plastic piece could make such a difference.
well the Diverter is not working it dose not matter the distance. when applied it should shoot the water to shower or tub if not working will come both.
