I've looked up your model vacuum cleaner, and it seems that I am able to still get this motor for your Eureka central vacuum cleaner. We're located in the United States, but we can certainly ship this to you.

We sell the genuine Eureka motor for $199.00, however you may save substantially on this motor by purchasing it under the Lamb Electric name. The motors are identical, and Lamb actually makes this motor for Electrolux, and sells the replacement parts for MUCH less money they Electrolux. We sell the motor under the Lamb name for $119. I went ahead and added this part to our site so you could place your order if you wanted to. If the power nozzle motor is running, then the problem is a broken belt. It's recommended that it be taken to an authorized shop for replacement.
If the PN motor is not running, locate the reset switch on top of the PN and depress. If the motor still does not come on, there's a problem in the wiring or power module. The entire machine, including hose, wands, and power nozzle needs to be taken to the nearest authorized shop for exact diagnosis and repair/replacement of parts.
If the machine is the old style Electrolux (now known as Aerus), not sold in home improvement stores, the nearest authorized store can be found on the below site. Just follow the instructions.

You need to replace the motor. It should be Lamb motor #116765.

It sounds like you have a bad motor. Motors can be replaced easily. You will need to know the model number. There are several companies online that sell replacement motors.

If you have no suction, there are only a couple of things that could cause it. As you have checked for blockage, and changed your filters, you may have a vacuum motor with bad bearings, or broken fan blades (inside/on the vacuum motor). Either symptom points towards a vacuum motor being bad and needing replaced.

I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. It sounds to me like you have a bad replay switch on the inside of the Electrolux Central Vacuum and it needs replacing. They are not too bad as per the cost if you are mechanically able but B4 you attempt to do that I would have it checked by a local vacuum cleaner central vacuum service tech just in case. Help! It works fine until I plug in a hose and then the unit surges--kind of like its breathing.

I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. It sounds to me that you may have a weak motor and when it takes on a load it starts to over load and or surge – but if the motor is still under a factory warranty then contact the vendor who installed it because if you work on a unit that is under a factory warranty then it will void the warrant. It is not the vacuum inlet because that only uses a low volt wire. So if it beyond the factory warranty then contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or cal the Electrolux factory for further information and or an owner manual on the unit giving them a model # and serial # so they can download the correct service manual for you. Your motor may be in need of service but be careful that the repair and labor does not exceed the cost of a new motor.
