HOW TO REPAIR A THERMOSTAT

Hi, it won't cause your oven overheating by hanging loose. I think your thermostat is faulty. I don't suggest opening it to try and repair it yourself. If your tamper with the metal plates inside, your temperature will not be accurate as where you set it for 120 degrees Celcius or 248 fahrenheit it will meybe give you a true temperature of 220 degrees celcius or 428 fahrenheit which would be chaos. Rather rplace the complete thermostat unit.

I want to use two independent Sub procedures: One to convert a temperature from Farenheit to Celsuis, and the other to convert a temperature from Celsuis to Farenheit

Save this as a vbscript (filename.vbs) and modify the language as needed. Should be pretty self explanatory let me know if that works.
Sub ConvertTemp()
temp = InputBox("Please enter the temperature in degrees F.", 1)
MsgBox "The temperature is " & Celsius(temp) & " degrees C."
End Sub

Function Celsius(fDegrees)
Celsius = (fDegrees - 32) * 5 / 9
End Function

Function Fahrenheit(cDegrees)
Fahrenehit = (cDegrees + 32) * 9/ 5
End Function

Can't change my thermostat from fahrenheit to celsius.

When you do your system setup, Function 320 controls your temp. format. Set Function 320 to 1(celsius); Then press DONE. This will solve your problem.( Function 320 is defaulted to 0-Farenheit).
