To remove DC24's clear bin from the cyclone pack, first remove the clear bin and cyclone from the vacuum, and press the red bin base release trigger to open the bin base - as if you were emptying the machine. Then with the bin base still open, look at the rear of the cyclone pack for a silver catch - this catch will allow you to disengage the clear bin.
With the clear bin removed, you can use a soft brush or a dry cloth to remove any debris from the perforated shroud. Please note, the cyclone pack should never be washed or submerged in water as this can cause damage to your machine not covered under guarantee.
I hope this helps, but if you'd like any further advice on using or maintaining your DC24, please give our experts a call on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).
it isn't obvious from the pics but if I had to guess u need to get both the catch and the spring (if u lost it) b/c the reason the spring came out is that the catch is already broken.
Once u get it, it simply pops into place.

Empty the bin in the usual way. Leaving the bottom door open, raise the small catch on the front of the bin, towards the top. Pull the front of the bin down when this catch is held open and the clear bin will disengage from the top lug at the back. The whole clear outer bin them can be removed dowards to enable the cyclonic air wholes to be totally cleaned.
This is for the DC07 all floors but I asume all DC07s to be the same.
Hi at the top of the Cyclone there is a lever underneath the Handle. The Handle I am referring to says Dyson on it. Firstly you must release the Cyclone from the spine. After doing this you will be left with the Cyclone and the Cyclone Bin all in a oner.
To empty the bin you must lift the lever which is underneath the Dyson handle.
You can only seperate the bin from the cyclone whilst the bin flap is open.
Once you have opened the bin flap using the lever you can then use the lever and catch to seperate the 2 items.
I just received my replacement root cyclone in the mail today after waiting in the back-ordered status for three months. I positioned a butter knife in between the rubber gasket on the bottom flap lid and the bottom rim of the clear bin at the farthest point from the hinge and slowly and gently wiggled the knife between until the bottom flap just fell open. I examined the rubber gasket and it survived without injury and the bottom flap seals without any gaps...good luck
