You should check the speakers next. did the speakers work prior to installing the radio? check the wire harness used to connect the radio to the car speakers that is behind the panel and make sure everything is connected correctly. please rate me if this helps. thanks and good luck!

My acer aspire 1410 has no sound coming out but I have checked all the speakers are on and nothing is muted

1410 not 1410T answering for.. this. non Tango PC."T"
"nothing is muted" THE SOUND ICON IS X RED BAR MUTED
OR ARE YOU SAYing I HEAR NOTHING AND SEEMS MUTED
BUT IS NOT MUTED, BECAUSE THE ICON IS NOT RED BARRED.????(sorry for caps... finger slipped, lazy to change)
if not muted turn up the volume first.

this is a laptop (way make folks look it uP?)
this PC has 2 internal speakers.
we next take dollar store ear buds or headsets, with 3.5mm phone plug on the end and test the line (speaker ) out jack
the jack on desktops is green on laptops its has logo of head sets.
if that is dead, too. we know the problem is the sound drivers dead.
NO OS stated but this PC is today 12 years old
and had XP new VISTA was released 3 years later in 2007
so what OS is there? click control panel, click system icon bingo?
99% of the time, sound dies for only 1 reasons
folks up grade the OS and find sound dead.
that is because, of software upgrades gone wrong.
the maker (we are not ACER at all here) is at Acer.com
not fixya.
The maker supports xp vista and w7 only on this PC.
so answer their 1 question, what OS click that
and get the sound driver rand load it.

HOW TO DO THE VOLUME IF IT IS NOT WORKING IN YOUR COMPUTER

The question is kind of vague. Things to check are: check to see if the volume is turned down or muted on your pc. If you click on the little speaker on the lower right corner of the screen (by the time) that will bring up your audio properties make sure that the mute check box is NOT selected and volume is up. If you have external speakers make sure that they are plugged into the speaker output (Green Jack) and not the mic output (Red Jack). Also make sure that if your speakers are powered they are plugged into an outlet. Make sure that the volume is also turned up on the speakers.

Garmin Nuvi 610- working perfectly then sudden crackling and now loss of sound/or at best crackly and intermiitent sound- but map/navigation and on-screen directions fine

Check the audio output setting on the nuvi. There is a possibility that the FM Transmitter setting has been turned on or that the device has been muted.
To check the audio output setting:
  1. Touch the Speaker icon below the Wrench icon.
  2. At the bottom of the screen, touch Audio Output.
  3. Make sure that the Internal Speaker is selected and touch OK (660, 670, 680, and 5000 models only).
  4. Make sure that the MUTE box does not have a check mark in it. If it does, touch the box to clear the selection.
  5. Make sure the volume level is at a reasonable percent level.

No Sound. We moved the computer and now no sound.

Try checking to see to make sure that the audio jacks are plugged into the right ports. Also, check to make sure that nothing is muted, and that volume is up ( I've actually went for sound without a day after moving my computer because I forgot I had muted and turned my volume all the way down the day before xD )

Anyway, I hope this helps, and let me know if it doesn't.

Oh, and one last thing, make sure that your speakers are set as the primary output devices. If you have 3rd party audio drivers, sometimes you have to set what audio output is going through.

Speakers are plugged in correctly, lights on but still no sound

Check your output jack again and make sure its on the green jack
and also check your speaker wires, if okay then check this;

For Windows XP;
  1. Go to Control Panel
  2. Sounds and Audio Devices
  3. On the Volume tab under "Device volume" check that sound is NOT muted
  4. Adjust volume control
  5. Check "Speaker Setup" under "Speaker settings" under the "Advanced" button
For Vista:
  1. Control Panel
  2. Sounds
  3. Select Speakers then properties
  4. Make sure device is enabled
  5. Test sound
  6. Adjust volume controls
Under Device Manager make sure that under your sound card that you dont have a yellow exclamation. Yellow exclamation indicates you need to install the correct driver.
