Typical ZTR mower logic; If brake ON and both arms not out then kill engine.

It's likely the brake switch.

My craftsman ZTS 6000 dies when I take the parking brake off. It has just started doing this. Which part do I replace?

It is most likely the driver presence switch located under the seat. If the tractor has the brake set it will start and run without the driver in the seat. (PTO-off)

Releasing the brake requires a driver of sufficient weight to be in the seat for the tractor to continue to run. If the switch is defective the tractor even with driver inplace will stall. The PTO (mower deck must not be engaged).

Hope this helps?

Craftsman 944601090 seat safety switch problems

You should only need two of the three wires remaining. I also can't find your model number anywhere. Did you post the model number correctly?

Toro 4200 time cutter stalls when the handles are pulled in

I believe the timecutter has a safety switch that only allows the unit to start with handles in the out position, then you need to be on the seat to be able to pull handles in without stalling engine. Have you tried checking the seat switch? It sounds like one of your safety switches isn't working. Either the seat switch or the handle switches. That's where I would look first. Good luck!

I have the Craftsman 20.5 Model 944.609800 42 in mower I can get it to run but when i put it in gear or take my foot off the brake it stalls it also stalls when i engage the mower blades can you help i...

I agree it is the seat switch. This switch will let you start the mower as long as it is in neutral, the brake is set and the mower blades are not engaged. I think it is just two wires, maybe you can jump them together and see if it runs.

My lawn mower will start easily and continue running as long as the clutch brake is depressed but when I lift the clutch or try to engage the blades while the clutch is depressed the mower will stall.

This is a shot in the dark. I think you have a failed "operator presence safety switch". Rule this out by finding the switch and jumping it.

Your mower should run with no one in the seat IF THE PARKING BRAKE IS SET.

If the brake is released and no one is on it, it should shut off.

If you are on it and the brake is released you should be able to engage the blades (probably an electric clutch)

Purpose of this interlock is the shut the machine OFF should you fall off or jump off the machine. Do not disable this valuable safety feature.

Let me know what you find.

CRAFTSMAN 15.5 HP BRIGGS AND STRATTON ENGINE RPLACED IGNITION SWITCH, SOLENOID, STARTER WILL NOT ATTEMPT TO START

On a mower there are several safety interlocks.
One is a seat safety to ensure the driver is seated, one is a brake safety that ensures the brake is set, one is to ensure that the blades are not engaged.
If any one of these is open, the start circuit will not be complete, find and inspect all of them.

My craftsman zts 7500 will not start. The battery is charged, but turning the key does nothing.

The problem may be one of the safety switches. Make sure the blades are not engaged. The clutch pedal needs to be pushed all the way down, and there is another one that needs weight on the seat. Look around those areas for disconnected wires. Some even need to be in neutral. Lots of safety features.
