How come there is no air going into my fish tank via the pump?

You're pump is probably blocked. First, you should move your fish to somefreshly oxygenated water if it has been more than 24 hours since the pumpstopped working. Here are some other steps to take to determine if you canfix your pump, or if you have to buy a new one:1. Check the air tube connections to the air pump.2. If they are all connected, check that the motor isworking. You can do this by taking the air pipe off the pump, and putting theair outlet on the pump to your face. If the pump is working, you should be able to feel a rush ofair against your face. If you cannot - this means the air pump is not working.3. If there is no aircoming through, remove the tube and pour warm water through it. Remember, your fish should never be in a tank for more than24 hours without a pump or filter to circulate the air!

I just noticed that my fish tank air pump broke. How long can the fish survive with a broken pump?

As long as you have an air filter, your fish will befine. Just like pumps, the air filtersmove air around and oxygenate the water. The air pump is superfluous. If you do decide to purchase another pump, please see thisvideo on how to install it properly:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gTnfXgmMTxY

My fish tank air pump broke and I think my fish aren't getting enought oxygen because of it. Should I buy a new one or can it be fixed?

Technically, it can befixed but if it happens once, it will likely happen again. You should buy a new one as they aregenerally pretty cheap. In the meantime, fill a large bowl with water and place the fish there. This will allow them to get some fresh oxygen. While the fish are in the temporary container, get rid of all of the water in the tank. Then, refill again with new, oxygenated water. I wouldn't leave them in this environment formore than a day before you purchase a new air pump.

The jacuzzi magnum force pump can it be used for a fish pond

This is a lot of pump for a fish pond. You should use the safe-guards as you would find in a pool, two drain's separated by 3 or so feet and/or a couple skimmers. You dont want the fish getting pulled into the drains/skimmers. It will also be a lot of $ to run the pump compared to a smaller 'fish pond' pump ... of course your pond may be much larger than the average garden variety.

Personally, I dont think this is a good idea for a small pond. Tell me more about your pond.

How to install a throttle cable on a 40hp mercury outboard

Depending on the year you will have to open either an access panel on the control box or the complete control box. The rest is just a matter of fishing the cable from the motor to the console. Connecting the ends is relativaly easy, once you open the control box and remove the engine hood the rest will be easy.

Please take a moment and rate my answer............. Thanks

How to change gear box oil in outboard motor

There is 2 screws on the leg.One is below the bulge of the g/box and the other is just near the cavitation plate.Usually about 12-15mm across and flathead screwdriver.(usually)Pull out the bottom screw, then release the top screw. The oil will flow out.Good idea to replace the washers on them.To refill the g/box,you have to pump the oil in from the LOWER plug. The bottles the oil comes in ,have a tapered nozzle and you squeeze the bottle untill it comes out the top hole. You fill the oil from the bottom up.(no air bubbles in the g/box)Replace the screws.Job done.Take the prop off and make sure no fishing line on the shaft and put some grease on the shaft and replace.Hope this helps

Gear shifter locked in forward gear

If the gear lever is loose,it's the gear connection rod that you disconnect to do a g/box drop.If its not loose, drop the g/box off the leg and the first thing you find might be the problem.A loose bolt,a jammed shifter. It will probably be a connection problem than a g/box problemHope this helps

How do a seperate the lower unit on a 2000 40 hp yamaha

On the lower unit you have a side plate to undo the gear connection. It may be near the upper housing. Then you have the g/box nuts.Undo all of these. Now all of these are off,the lower unit will drop.If not,a rubber mallet softly around the sides of the lower casing. The g/box nuts are below or near the flat cavitation plate. Not the ones near the propeller.Lower it gently and watch where the water pump tube goes.Whilst the g/box is off,I would do the water pump. Its 4 bolts and takes about 20 minutes. The parts are cheap and worth doing while the box is off.Make sure a high temp grease goes on the top of the driveshaft before it geos back in.Hope this helps

CAN I POWER MY FISH FINDER GOING DIRECTLY TO THE

Yes you can. Basically the red wire goes to the fuse box connection. The fuse box should then be wired into the positive battery terminal. The black wire is the negative ground wire and needs to go directly back to your negative battery terminal or to a common negative buss bar.
