My West Bend 33600 leaks. I just bought it used on Ebay for my church. When we tried to use it the water immediately leaked out through the glass tube (coffee level indicator). Does anyone know if there is a washer at the bottom of the coffee level indicator? There seems to be a lot of play between the glass and the metal. Shipping is expensive from Hawaii and I don't want to send it back as I will eat about $40.00. Can anyone help me with some suggestions??
Thank you!

SOURCE: West Bend 33600 heats to 178 degrees
Im sure one of the thermostats is a high heat thermostat but more than likely the element is covered with lime, I would put some diluted "Lime Away" and let it soak for a few hours then drain it and run clear water through it three of four times.
If this doesn't work for you then I would change the high heat thermostat.
