I recently bought a permanent filter for my Keurig coffee maker. When I use it, however, the coffee does not come out in a steady stream as with the K-cups, and it is leaking out of other parts of the nosel. Help!
Are you using the my k-cup with the Keurig pre-filled K-cups? If so it won't work. There must be a needle on the top and bottom of the K-cup for this machine to work. The My personal K-cup does not have a needle in the bottom. It's only to be used for filling with your own coffee.
The My K-cup reusable filter leaks because the top rubber seal does not squash down on the filter lid tightly enough. Check product reviews on Amazon for lots of customer comments. There are two solutions I know of:
1) Remove the upper rubber seal, slip a washer <1mm thick over the needle and replace the seal. Experiment with washer thickness if necessary. A stainless washer is best.
2) Get a rubber washer from the hardware store and place it in the recess in the reusable filter lid.
3) Wait for Keurig to fix this.
I used solution #1 and it works great.
