I have a Craftsman 19.2 charger that stopped working...

I have a Craftsman 19.2 volt cordless drill with 3 batteries and the charger quit working. I plug in the battery and none of the lights come on. I moved the charger to different outlets and the same thing. Acts like it's not even plugged in.

OK, I had trouble with craftsman 19.2 charger stopped working. I took them a part and found there is a lever looking plastic piece that turns the switch inside the charger. The lever gets pushed by a battery and it pushes the switch. Well, over the years of use, the tip of the lever got rounded on mine and not be able to push the inside switch in all the way. So I just super glued a little plastic on the lever piece and put the battery together. It's been working fine ever since.

i have opened up my two "dead" battery chargers (same model) and i manually press the switch inside and the charging lights to no come on...does this mean they are really dead? The lever tip does NOT seem to be rounded? Thanks

Need a battery charger for the 21.6 volt battery

It will work if it is of the same charger/receiver style. The only issue is that you will only be charging to 19 volts and not 21.6, I would estimate by doing some simple math that you would lose about 6-8% of the batteries capacity but you would be able to use it.

Have a 15.6v cordless drill - both batteries charge up to ~6v and no more; the red led is on - are both batteries the problem? this is the second charger - drill does not get used very ofter - model of...

See if you can put a volt meter on the metal contacks of the charger to see what voltage it is producing. If you have a friend who has the same drill have him try to charge your batteries and then measure the battery voltage.

Batteries not charging

sounds like my charger, not making good contact

wiggle the battery around while pushing down and you can probably get it to make contact

sounds like you just need a new charger

try wiggling the battery around and see if a light flashes

also look and see if a light flashes when you plug it in
