Samsung SL310w Camera last day of holiday and Card error came up, can I retrieve my pics anyway. I had taken about 100 pictures. The card is and Optima SD 2GB which came with the camera. HELP PLEASE - PICS OF 1ST GRANDCHILD

Look at your memory card. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

If that doesn't work, try another card.

Read page 84 through 90 of the SL310W user manual.

On most cameras, copy to card signals the camera to copy the internal memory pics to the memory card. The missing pics should now be on your memory card.

They are probably still there. Get yourself a card reader and use it to download your pics.

Here is what the Samsung websites says:

MMCplus(up to 2GB guaranteed 4bit 20MHz);
SD (up to 4GB guaranteed);
SDHC (up to 8GB guaranteed);

So it is OK to use a 4GB SDHC memory card in your samsung sl310w.

maybe the memory card is bad?try changing it with a diffrent one!!!

There could be many different problems with this camera.
The batteries could be defective.
The camera itself could be defective.
The lens may be jammed.

I'm not there so I can't say exactly what is wrong. If possible, try to email Samsung and they will get back to you in at least 2 business days.

Software for Memory error correction is available on charge basis to get data/ pictures.
