I own a salt and pepper mill set of yours i have had them for a number of years the chrome ring on the salt mill is comming off in bits help

batteries are in the bottom. unscrew bottom cap and pull metal ring to release battery pack. put in fresh batteries and return to casing. screw cap in place. if it does not work immediately, unscrew cap again and move metal wire to opposite side of battery pack and replace the cap again.

If you want a QUALITY Pepper mill buy a Peugeot. They use grinding gears made in the plant where they make the vehicle gearboxes. The cutters are hardened and tempered steel. Mine has a 5 position collar at the based for the coarseness of the grind. The top cap is purely for filling. I am a chef and I use a lot of black pepper.
