Probably the charger is broken. Please test the laptop using other charger (brand new charger).

Acer Aspire 5720 - was on the internet when display fuzzed out and then turned black, now have no display only fuzzy black/grey screen. Can you tell me what the problem is?

Unplug your laptop and remove the battery from it, and wait 5 minutes, that should drain any remaining power from the laptop, re-attach the battery and the power cord, and turn it on. It should work fine again.

I found this online, so hopefully it helps. It's to a page selling a second hard drive caddy for the 3623WXCi, but at the bottom is has directions on replacing the hard drive for that model as well.

My acer aspire starts up to the microsoft logo then turns off. i think the battery is dead because when i take out the power cord the battery light goes out. but should it still start with the charger...

Hi

If your battery is dead you can still use your laptop with the power cord connected and turned on
have you tried charging your battery for a couple of hours with out using the laptop just to see if the battery will charge and hold its charge for a while

1. With battery alone in notebook, and no power cable, do you get power?

2. With the battery taken out, and power cable plugged in, you do get power?

IF YES to the above two questions
... and u can get power using the power cable but not using the battery, then your battery is dead and u need a new one.

Acer 1410 can't turn on with cord plugged in

The battery isn't charging, from what you describe. Sounds like a bent pin, or a bad charging circuit. Waranty should cover, unless it was dropped or 'abused,' assuming that it was a new present. Take a quick look at the battery connection.

When you plug the power cord check and see if the battery shows that its charging ,if the charge level is low allow it to charge fully ,after its fully charged remove the power cord and see if it will go of again .if it goes off then you know the battery is dead if not it might be of low charge or not properly fixed.hope this helps
