Motorola s9 headset not charging

I just received a pair of motorola s9 bluetooth headphones i ordered on ebay. they are supposed to be new but will not accept a charge. I plug it in and the red light turns on for about 5 seconds then turns off. I let it sit for about 30 minutes with no change. the manual said the light should stay on when it is charging. the device will not power up when I unplug it.

I had the same problem but instead of a red light it would flash green twice and stay off. I could not find the original charger and another plug in charger would not work. I plugged it into my computer with a usb cable and after several seconds it started charging.

Are you using the Motorola brand charger or some off brand? I guess there is a chip in the Motorola brand charger that communicates w/ the headset, some better brands of chargers will work, but no-name cheapo chargers prolly don't have the chip & won't charge the device. That's been my experience with the headset.

I have the same problem. I tried the 2 solutions above, unfortunately it did not work. I read that the baatery inside is a lithium battery, NON REPLACABLE by the user. I search now for a repair centre, perhaps they will be able to fix it.

Mine was doing the two green flash too. I plugged it into a computer USB port and it stopped and started charging. You might try that.

I have metro pcs phone service and a motorola s9 bluetooth headset i cant get the passcode.

Press and hold the power key (under the red cover) longer than the time required to turn it on, until its indicator light is alternately flashing in red and blue. It is in pairing mode (discoverable) now. Then, make your phone's bluetooth application search for new devices. After a little while, the S9 should appear on-screen. Select it and make it connect. If a pairing code (or PIN, or passkey) is requested, enter '0000' (four zeros). If the pairing process is successful, the S9 should enter the stand-by mode. There could be such an indicaton in your phone too.

Hope it works for you.

By the way, if your headset's user guide happens to be missing, feel free to download it from this location.

Anyway, please, let me know if I can help you any further.

Regards, Carlos

  2. Hold down the call button until the blue light comes on.

Trying to connect motorola s9hd to the laptop

assuming you have bluetooth installed on your laptop,
1) you have to disable the bluetooth pairing of your s9 with another device that you may have paired with it earlier - like a mobile phone. disconnect previously paired devices first.
2) turn on the bluetooth feature on your pc and ask it to "search" for devices. assuming your s9 is on standby, your pc should be able to "locate" and pair with it assuming the s9 is within an arms length distance from the computer.
3) make sure that the s9 is completely charged to eliminate that power issues as well

Iam looking for replacement earbuds for my motorola s9 bluetooth headset. geozep0

I did exactly what geozep0 indicated in his comment with similar successful results. I called the Motorola customer service number: 1-866-289-6686. Per the representative I spoke with, Motorola's standard warranty policy covers the entire unit (including the earbuds) for one year from the date of purchase.
They are sending me new earbuds free of charge.
Success!

PAIR KEY FOR MOTOROLA s9

Bluetooth headsets have their passkey hardcoded by their manufacturers. So, I'm afraid it is not suitable to be changed. However, once any two bluetooth devices are paired, their link is encrypted. You see, you put your headset in pairing mode only when you want to pair it to a specific device of yours (i.e. phone, PC, etc.). Once they are paired to each other, third devices won't be able to get into that connection.
Just my 2 cents...

Motorola S9 bluetooth headphones

Try 0000 this is standard manufacturing default code for nearly any blue-tooth device that has security feature enabled and because the moto s9 as far as i can see has no way of being able to change this code it must be still at the manufactured setting
