SOURCE: GE dehumidifier light says bucket is full but it isn't

Try feeling both sides of the outside of the bucket and make sure the bucket is flush with the dehumidifier. If one side is sticking out more than the other it may notbe engaged correctly which will cause a full bucket notification. If everything checks out ok there try takng the bucket out and push in on the button that the lever from the bucket engages on at the dehumidifier. If the light turns off after you push on the red button that means the bucket is not engaging correctly. If the red light stays on and it doesnt make a difference he button sensor may be defective. If you found this solution helpful please rate it.

SOURCE: Dehumidifier Error?

This error code indicates that the problem is most likely a shorted defrost thermistor or possibly a pinched wire going to the thermistor. You will need to replace the sensor assembly - part # 6877A30013L. The Sears website has it listed for 9.99 + shipping. The humidity sensor & defrost thermistor come together in a wiring harness that plugs onto the main circuit board. It is fairly simple to repair. Just remove the front & rear grill & the metal cabinet. Remove the thermistor from the copper tube on the cooling lines; remove the humidity sensor from the front of the evaporator; pull the wire plug off the bucket switch; & remove the small 7 pin plug from the main circuit board inside the metal control box. Reverse procedure to install new sensor assembly.

SOURCE: Dehumidifier Error?

Same problem with Goldstar model DH404EY7 -- stop code 01 on startup, bucket full light blinks (drains to floor).

Replaced the main controller board to fix it.

For my model dehumidifer the part # is 6871A20888A, and cost $77.44 (not counting shipping) from Appliance Factory Parts. The Appliance Factory Parts web site also provides parts breakdown (exploded parts diagram) diagrams and service manuals in PDF form.

SOURCE: 'bucket full' light on, but bucket empty

There is likely a switch operated by a float to turn that light on and turn off the compressor, sometimes manufactures use a rubber "O" ring on the float shaft and they can slip. take the cover off the pump and check the float or in some cases one of two floats are used. Once float turns the pump on and off and the second float shuts OFF the compressor and turns ON the full reservior light.

SOURCE: My new LG "ld450eal" DeHumidifier

The switch that says 'Bucket is full' is not adjusted properly.
It will need to be adjusted, normally a screw driver or pliers,
so that when its empty the switch is not made or the contacts
are open.
If it is in adjustment properly, then the switch is bad and needs
replacing.
Before you replace it, check to make sure the wires leading to it
are not touching, it may be sending a signal meaning 'full' by
electricaly touching each other at the switch.

My comfort site dehumidifier. When the bucket is full

If water is coming out on the floor from your Comfort Site dehumidifier even when the bucket is not overflowing, there may be a few possible causes for this issue:
  1. Improper Placement of the Bucket: Ensure that the bucket is correctly positioned and inserted into the dehumidifier. Make sure it is securely in place, and the water outlet on the bucket is aligned with the dehumidifier's drainage system. If the bucket is not properly seated or aligned, it can result in water leakage.
  2. Bucket Seal or Gasket: Check the bucket's seal or gasket for any signs of damage, wear, or misalignment. If the seal is compromised or not making proper contact with the dehumidifier's body, water can escape and leak onto the floor. Clean the seal and ensure it is free from debris or obstructions. If necessary, replace the seal or gasket with a compatible replacement part.
  3. Drainage Hose Connection: Some dehumidifiers have the option to connect a drainage hose directly to the unit for continuous draining. If a drainage hose is connected, make sure it is securely attached and there are no leaks or loose connections along the hose. Ensure that the other end of the hose is properly directed into a drain or receptacle.
  4. Internal Drainage System: The dehumidifier's internal drainage system, including the collection tray or drain pan, may be clogged or blocked. Remove the bucket and inspect the drainage area for any debris, buildup, or blockages. Clean the drainage system thoroughly, ensuring that water can flow freely from the collection tray into the bucket without any obstructions.
  5. Check for Excessive Humidity: If the dehumidifier is operating in an area with extremely high humidity levels, it may struggle to remove moisture effectively. This can result in excessive condensation or water buildup that leads to leakage. Consider using additional dehumidification methods or addressing the underlying humidity issue in the space.
If the issue persists after checking these potential causes, it is advisable to consult the user manual for your specific Comfort Site dehumidifier or contact the manufacturer's customer support for further assistance. They can provide specific troubleshooting steps or offer guidance based on their knowledge of the product.

When full bucket light comes on water is emptied and bucket put back in position. Fan will start and then the full bucket light comes back on beeps and shuts off.

You have to be sure bucket is replaced exactly where it should go or the bucket will hold the switch in, thinking it is full. If you have a floor drain close by,remove the bucket and set the dehumidifier over or next to drain so water will go down it,then you don't worry about bucket getting full.If it doesn't run with bucket off, maybe defective switch. unhook wires to the bucket switch and hook or tape together,if dehumidifier runs then switch is bad. UNPLUG FROM OUTLET BEFORE DOING THIS. IF YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND ELECTRICITY GET QUALIFIED HELP!!

Dehumidifier seems to be running fine, but water leaking on floor even with minimal water accumulated in bucket?

Hey friend, thanks for your post!

It sounds like your dehumidifier needs to be professionally cleaned. What could be causing the problem is a buildup on the inside of your dehumidifier where the water drains out and it is causing the water to not drain properly. Additionally, I would check to verify that the drain hole is tightly secured with the plug. I know you stated that the bucket is not leaking but have you removed it to verify? Please comment back if further assist is needed. -Matt

Dehumidifiers bucket empty but says full water leaking on floor

if says full and leaking on floor. it is full, you say empty, why make sure that it is empty, sensor in container to check level, so if it is empty, sensor fault, but leaking on floor, would indicate sensor ok, and container full

The bucket fills up but we have to put a towel down because it leaks all over the floor. What could be wrong ?

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand that the bucket fills with water and overflows on your Frigidaire dehumidifier, model# FAD704DUD. Please make sure your dehumidifier is installed on a level that will support it with a full bucket of water. If the dehumidifier is moving when it fills with water then this could possibly be the cause of the bucket overflowing. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

Danby Dehumidifier DDR7009REE leaking water, bucket not full

Hi there,
The unit may need cleaning. You can contact Danby customer service (1-800-263-2629) to get in contact with a technician.
There may be something clogging the passage to the bucket and the water is finding the path of least resistance.
As well, it is important to remember to clean the filter once a month.

I have water all over the floor but no water in the water container. Help needed

Same here but intermittent water in bucket. Remove front cover (little tricky). See if drainage hole at base of tray is clogged with corrosion debris (Mine was). If can't remove cover, use compressed air to blow into drainage port.
