Normally you can just replace the motor with out changing the entire unit. A new gasket should come with the new motor.

SOURCE: water works spa pump- need to remove wet end...

Most of these are reverse threaded. There should be a place on the shaft that is flat on 2 sides a 1/2" or 9/16" wrench will fit into the slots. If not look at the back for a place to use a hex key. Hold the wrench/ hex key stationary with the Impeller facing you turn clockwise.
I know this sounds backwards but it should work.
Hope this helps

SOURCE: how to remove the impeller off my Type UP26-96F

Most of these style knock off in a counterclockwise direction. The impeller is usually threaded onto the shaft that way. A small brass drift and hammer should move it easily.

Testimonial: "Thanks guys-I didnt want to risk damage to the impeller before knowing for sure. (good work!)."

SOURCE: trying to replace motor cant figure out how to remove impeller,

Might be a screw in middle of impeller with reverse thread. If so, remove. Remove back cover of motor, hold center shaft with wrench and unscrew impeller from shaft.

Grundfos stopped circulating.

At approximately $238.95 new, it pays to do a bit of troubleshooting.
Below are some sites that may help:

There are no repair parts for these pumps, and nobody at Fixya has reported taking Grundfos apart and repairing it.

The circulation pump making noise.

Question posted under Grundfos recirculation system.
If pump is making noise, then air or sediment is probably trapped at the impeller.
Remove pump, and connection between hot-and-cold pipes and clean with white vinegar.
Or use CLR but do not soak parts in CLR or it can cause damage.

TDA200 Recirculating pump how to replace impellor

There are a number of screws on the pump housing opposite the motor that can be removed to open the pump and expose the impeller. Some pumps have a screw into the center of the shaft that helps keep the impeller from spinning off the shaft. It often is a left handed screw. Once any center screw is removed the cover on the other end of the pump should be removed to expose the end of the motor shaft. This end of the shaft should be held solid with a wrench while the impellor is unscrewed. These threads are usually right handed. The process can be reversed with a new impeller. I hope this helps.

Pump is whining and making very loud noise.

Install air vent?
Clean pump impeller with white vinegar?
replace pump?

After replace the cold water pipe line, my Grundfos recirculator pump does not work anymore. I have to wait 3 min to get hot water. Do you know anything wrong here? Thanks

Many times when pipes are worked on, the work loosens sediment that was built up in the pipe.
Sediment is probably why cold water line was replaced.
That's why faucet aerators get clogged up after pipes are worked on.

It sounds like your grundfos pump got clogged too.
Immediately unplug the pump so motor is not overheating.
Motors are meant to turn freely and can be damaged when blocked.

Take apart the pipes at grundfos pump and see if you can clean out the line.
If line cannot be cleaned or pump doesn't restart, then the grundfos has to be replaced.

Also look at adjoining pipes and see if there is a clog in nearby elbow, especially where galvanized and copper pipes join..

Grundfos recirculating system. Never has produced semi instant hot water at sink it is installed on. Could the original comfort valve be defective

http://waterheatertimer.org/Water-heater-recirculation-system.html

The circulation system should draw hot water directly from the water heater as shown on illustrations on link above.

The Grundfos pump works on a thermostat, and some work on a timer.
Can you hear the pump working?
There should be a humming sound.
Check the timer -or- thermostat setting.

It is possible the lines are clogged with sediment if you have hard water.

If I was going to fix the problem:
1) check thermostat or timer
2) listen for pump sound
3) check electricity going to unit
4) take apart the pipes and inspect for clogging
If there is a clog, I would flush the line or soak the part in CLR (calcium lime rust remover)

The circulation pumps are sealed and there is no way to take apart the motor, timer, or thermostat for repairs.

add a comment if you need more assistance.

Pump gets very hot. Water not

That would be my guess. If water is not circulating then that points to impeller problem
