This sounds like a bad or bent beater bar try replacing it.... If this doesn't help then the motor shaft is bent and cheaper to replace with new vacuum

Check that the motor and the beater are seated properly. If they are not square to each other then the belt may walk sideways.

SOURCE: New Eureka vacuum cleaner belt keeps slipping off

You may have a bad brush roll, part #61250-1, or the base itself has a problem and isn't letting the brush roll sit straight so it can be in alignment.

SOURCE: Belt slips off motorshaft

It could be an old belt even if the upright is new. Check that the beater bar is not clogged with dust or threads and find a replacement belt for this vacuum and fit it to see if there is any difference. If not, then there's a problem with the vac and it should be returned.

SOURCE: THE LARGE BELT KEEPS SLIPPING OFF

Hi there SmartAlec from NelsonVacuums.com.au there are 2 basic causes for this to happen.
1. The belt has become stretched over time (can be as short as a few months). This will need a new vacuum belt i can supply these for all vacuum cleaners at my website.
2. The drive shaft has actually moved slightly - this can happen when 1 or more of the mounting points for the motor cracks or breaks allowing the motor to turn slightly in the housing.
Basically i would suggest try changing the belt for a new one before attempting to fix the mountings as that it a bit of a tricky job. Unless it is under warranty in which case take it back to your dealer and let them deal with it.
* please note * belts are not covered under warranty so change that first otherwise you will get a repair bill for something that is really easy to fix.
Hope this helps.
Happy Vacuuming! :)

SOURCE: The small belt attached to the roll brush keeps

The small belt rarely gives the problem you describe. The larger belt can jump off if the belt is worn or if th roller gets caught on something suddenly. The belt should be replaced every 9 - 12 months. If your carpet setting is too low this will cause the belts to wear faster that the estimated given time

The belt on my bissell powerforce compact keeps falling off the spindle. So its not moving the brush it stays on for a minute then falls off.

Either your belt has stretched beyond its specs or you have larger problems. Are you talking about a new belt? If not, try a new belt. If so, check to make sure the beater bar will spin freely without a belt attached. If it spins without a belt attached, make sure the bearing blocks at both ends are in good shape.

How do I change the vacuum cleaner belt on a eureka bagless old v.c.don't have model not sure where it is. Called the Boss around 10???yrs old PLEASE help

I know you have to remove the brush and roller to slip the new belt on on any of these type vacuums ..
usually they slide in place and have a bearing or bush each end
there should be a plate with screws underneath the vacuum
then remember which way the belt is twisted for them to work in the right direction ...take pictures as you go for a reference

Why is the new belt on my dirt devil featherlite repeatedly slipping off? Everything else on it works fine and the b elt is the correct size.

Hello! There is no other part that goes on the motor shaft after the belt is put on. The tension of the belt keeps the belt from slipping off. If you have a brand new belt that keeps slipping off you may not have the correct belt for the vacuum. Be sure you replace with a genuine Dirt Devil belt and the specified belt style for your particular unit. Hope this helps! The belt keeps slipping off. I bought a new one and it too slips off after about a half hour of vacuuming.

check the motor shaft for loosness. when the bearings wear out and fail, the motor shaft will not be strait and the belt will ride off. also check for alignment and inspect the brushroll for proper installation, free rotation, and non melted endcaps. let me know if you have any questions

Belt keeps coming off

I believe there is something wrong with the roller, could be the barrings or the end caps are warped. Try this, take the roller out and with each hand on each end hold the roller and try to spin the roller with your thumb. If it does not spin freely the problem is the roller.

You could try contacting Hoover for parts availability. If it's and older WindTunnel and Hoover no longer has the part, try eBay.
