How often should you replace a Watch Dog backup sump pump?

Can anyone help? My Simer backup sump pump flood light is on continuously. All the rest of the lights seem to be working fine and the pump looks like it is in working order. When I toggle the lood light button it just gets brighter. tHANKS...SCOTT!

Suggest you check the battery to see if it is charged. Your problem may not be the battery.

If you have a battery backup attached, the battery charge may be low.

Check that the battery is fully charged, keep a trickle charger on it so you don't have to worry. More importantly, test the backup pump float to make sure it doesn't bind on the other things (primary float, piping) in the sump crock. With the primary pump turned off, fill the crock and see if the float rises freely.
