Brother HL-4040CN successfully installed but shows offline

no heads in this printer

I had this problem when tried to install network driver to Brother HL-L2340D (exactly InstallNetworkDriver - 3, not InstallNetworkDriver - 1). Tried it several timers, when print spooler service was running. But still got the same error.

Finally, i forgot about install wizard and installed driver manually (for my Win2008R2x64, it was DeviceManager >> Install old device >> Manual choice from list >> Show all devices >> Install from disc >> target to unzipped wizard content folder (...install/driver/gdi/32_64) >> select wanted printer model in appeared list >> continue install it.

After that, you can install this printer with standart applets of control panel (Printers > Install printer), it successfully finds printer in network and add it to list.

So, i still don`t know the reason, but have the solution.

Remove the paper from the MP tray.
Remove any jammed paper from in and around the MP tray.
Fan the paper stack, and then put it back in the MP tray.
When loading paper in the MP tray, make sure that the paper stays under the maximum paper height guides (1) on both sides of the tray.
Press Black (Mono) Start or Color (Colour) Start to resume printing.

Here are possible solutions to your problem. Are you trying to install new printer on the network or it is already installed but not detected.

1.Check the printer or the computer is if turn on.
2.Check the printer cable if connected.
3.Make sure you are properly configure the printer using their network ID or the computer is being shared or not.

Hello, Open the start menu and click on the "printers and faxes" icon. This will open a window with the list of printers currently set up on your computers.

2. Double click on the icon of the printer you want to change to online. A pop-up window detailing all current print job will open.

3. Go to printer in the menu bar of the pop-up window and unchecked "use printer offline". This action will change the printer from offline to online mode.

to get out of maintenance use the up or down arrows until it says 99 then press ok.

make sure none of the buttons on the machine are stuck down, that could have caused this

i have brother 4040cn printer but its not working any more its showing me no paper load paper in multi purpose tary.
