I have an MXD44 in my boat. Radio works fine but no digital display. I ordered a new face plate thinking that was the issue--no luck! radio plays and tunes fine--just no visual/digital----HELP!

To turn off the demo you need to press the src button to put it in standby mode. Then press the menu button as if to change the settings and use the joystick to scroll right until you see demo, then turn it to off....

Do as above to allow you to enter AUX mode this will let you plug in your MP3 player to the input on the face and hear music through it ;)

SOURCE: My DAB radio wont tune in to a station, just displays ''tuning''

This is not a solution but a suggestion - My Dad has this Hi-Fi and also has the same problem, unfortunately his warranty ran out 6 months ago. So, because of this I opened the stereo up. Inside there is a little (4in by 3in approx) PCB at the bottom back of the Hi-Fi above the CD section. This PCB is the tuner board. On this board there is another board (hybrid) with a BGA (Ball Grid Array) chip. BGA's sometimes lose connections between the pads on the board and the contacts under and on the chip. I am away in Germany for a little while but in 3 weeks when I visit my Mum & Dad again I am going to take the tuner board out and take it to work where we have a special heat gun for lifting surface mount chips. I am going to flux and reheat the BGA chip to reflow the joints under the chip. I am a Senior Test Technician with PCB experience so I DO know what I am doing. I let you all know how it goes.

Hi All, the very same thing happened to me. Cold weather broke my radio and the display screen stayed on with the time and temperature but the radio wouldn't work. I rang Renault & they said I need to come in an get a new radio but I put it off. In the end the problem started affecting my battery and the car wouldn't start. But then when I jump started it, it also started the radio again perfectly. Problem solved!
