The file format should be mp3, download the exact format from any song site and copy them without any change.

The song you are trying to play on the MP3 player is probably not MP3 , or it is a format that the MP3 player cannot read.

One song that I want to play on my mp3 player keep coming up "Format Error". Why is ... You can't, unless you find out WHAT format it is, and install a player that is compatible with THAT format. Apparently, you are trying to play a file that IS NOT MP3. m. 0 ... #2 doesn't really happen often, but it can happen.

Why do i get format error when i put songs from a cd on the eclipse?

Hi,

1. Why do i get format error when i put songs from a cd on the eclipse?
= This is probably because the format that your songs are currently in is not supported by your device. Supported devices on the Mach Speed Eclipse 180 MP3 player are: mp3, wav, and wma. If your music is for example filename.cda, it won't be able to play because of the file format being .cda.

2. I also see the song on the eclipse but it says drm protected and will not play the song.
= When ripping your music, check your ripping options in whichever ripping software you are using that protecting music files is off, this may be the reason why your music cannot play - it may be protected to only play on the computer that ripped(recorded or duplicated) the song.

Loaded songs from cds ripped to computer. When itry ro play the songs on the media player, I get a 'format error'

Your getting a format error because the format of the song, video, etc
you are trying to play is not the format needed by your MP3 player to
play the song,video,etc.
Always check in your owners manual to find out what format your player
requires.
Once you have determined what the format you have (MP3,MP4,ACC,WMA,etc.)
you will need to determine what format you need for your player to play
those songs,video,etc.
If the format that you have for your songs, videos, etc is different than
the format that you need for your player to play them, then you will
have to download a format converter and convert each song, video, etc to
the format that is usable in your MP3 player.

Format error

Take note that if you have reformatted your drive all file inside were lost. Basically mp3 players can play only mp3 format. If the format of your songs inputted to your mp3 player are not the same with the format required to your player nothing should be happen to play.

If the required of your player is mp3 so you need to put only mp3 format. No other format should be played. If your download songs are wma format convert it to mp3 format.

Sony NW-E507 Cannot play!

The songs that won't play are in the wrong format. Three common music formats are: WMA AAC Mp3
AAC (ITunes) does not work with most players, WMA is problem-prone. I would use Mp3 format only.

Format error

It's an unsupported file format. Are you trying to play files that were ripped in I-tunes? I-tunes does not make mp3s, it makes m4a files, which are not supported. Make sure the files you put on this player are mp3 files. You can also use wma files, but you will probably need to use Windows Media Player to transfer those files.
