SOURCE: Yamaha HTR-6230 receiver set up w/HDMI no sound

BD and DVR hooked up to the receiver and from the receiver to the TV right? If yes: Your receiver set to pass sound trough to the TV, if you want sound from the home theater setting has to be changed.

SOURCE: Yamaha receiver RX-V663

Make sure you have an analog RCA audio cable from the source to the receiver. Digital coaxial or optical will not work for zone 2 or zone 3. By adding an analog cable it will not affect your main zone, it will always go to digital first. Hope this helps

SOURCE: how do I connect my xbox 360 to my yamaha HTR 6230 receiver?

Use HDMI because they combine picture and sound in one convenient cable. You can buy the cheapy ones because they work the same as the pricey ones with no degradation in sound quality or picture.

I have no TV box but do have cable, how do I hook up TV,VCR,DVD, and YAMAHA HTR 6030

For watching TV, your TV should have a monitor out. This will go to your CBL/Sat input on the receiver. If you have a newer TV, it will have an optical output,if you use that, you will have Dolby Digital surround when available, and digital stereo at all other times. For the VCR and DVD, if they are separate units, Run audio video from the VCR to the receiver to VCR 1, for the DVD, use Component video and optical or digital coaxial to the receiver. Then from the receiver run component video to the TV. If you need further help, post a comment and I will help you further. Hope this helps

Setting up DVR, Receiver & VCR w/out cable box

For TV audio thru the receiver, you will need to run an optical cable or RCA analog audio cable from the "Audio Output" or "Monitor Output" on the back of the TV to the CBL/Sat input on the Yamaha. The VCR goes to Video 1 on the receiver and the DVDR will go to DVR/VCR2 on the receiver. If you want to pass Video thru the Yamaha to the TV, use the "Monitor Output" on the Yamaha if it's at least "Component Video" if not, connect your video sources directly to the TV and audio to the Yamaha. Hope this helps. If you need further assistance with this, post a comment and I will help you further.
