SOURCE: i purchased a yamaha 62ii but the serial number

Here is your answer:http://en.allexperts.com/q/Saxophone-2232/2010/3/YAS-62-vs-YAS.htm As far as telling which yours is, you will have to contact them as they roll over their serial numbers after a period of time. Here is the info:https://www.yamaha.com/ussub/contactform.html?deptcode=16036 If you notice in their brochures they say that the II has an improvement of a G1 neck. They also say that in the discontinued 62 brochure. Here is the 62:http://usa.yamaha.com/products/musical-instruments/winds/sax/altosax/yas-62/?mode=model and here is the 62II:http://usa.yamaha.com/products/musical-instruments/winds/sax/altosax/yas-62ii/?mode=model What gives with that? I would also recommend joining this forum and ask the same question if it hasn't already been asked:http://www.saxontheweb.net/

Who made an alto saxophone serial no. 441117 made in Taiwan and what does it sell for new ?

It could be anybody. Saxophones made in Taiwan aren't usually worth all that much. Sometimes you can tell by the keywork, body style keyguards etc. who made it. Here is a link that may help:http://www.saxontheweb.net/Links.html#Buying

You are going to have a great deal of difficulty finding information using only the serial number. Have a look at this forum and consider joining and asking them. They probably have the most informed members for a saxophone forum:http://forum.saxontheweb.net/archive/index.php/t-84514.html
