You can transfer your text messages to your PC by installing a software on your PC called Jeyo Mobile Companion. download this software, install it and then connect your phone with the PC. once synchronized, you will be able to transfer all your text messages to your PC as a "Notepad" document! i hope this works for yah.. for your other question, go to start then settings, then "sounds and notifications", then go to the "notifications" tab, then in the "event" pull down menu select "messaging:new text message" and then check the "play sound" check box and then select any sound you would like. simple isn't it? ;)

How do I adjust the volume, too LOUD?

Hello jinniq51,

i have some tips on how to do it hope it helps :D

Settings
In this menu, you can adjust various phone
settings. To reset some menu settings to their
default values, select Restore factory set.
Tone settings
Select Menu > Settings > Tone settings and from the available
options:
Ringing tone-To set the tone for incoming calls
Ringing volume-To set the volume level for the ringing and
message alert tones. If you set Ringing volume to be level 2 or
above, your phone rings with the ringing volume ascending
from level 1 to the level you have set when there is an
incoming call.
Vibrating alert-To set the phone to vibrate when you receive a
call or a text message
Message alert tone-To set the tone to sound when you receive
a text message
Warning tones-To set the phone to sound tones, for example,
when the battery is running out of power

How do you change ring tone for a text message on a blackberry tour 9630

Go to the sounds icon in the upper left corner of your main Home screen (the one that looks like a speaker with sound coming out of it). Scroll down the list that appears and select Set Ring Tones/Alerts. Click Messages, then SMS Text. Select the ring tone and volume that you want for text messages, as well as any other options (like vibrate) and then exit out and save your changes.

I have a ring tone stored in my files how can i move it to use it for incoming tex alert

you may try to do these steps.  1.  press menu 2.  select settings 3.  select phone profiles 4.  press and select the >> (double arrow) normal profile or what ever profile you have chosen. 5.  beside the normal mode you will see there a drop down list, a box with down solid arrow  6.  press that box and it will give you the least of options 7.  select new messages 8.  under new messages settings you will have a list of options,  9.  select and press message alert tone and browse for the files stored in your memory card. 10. press save and exit the setup.  >> you don't need to copy or move the files you want as text alert tone for it will move automatically once you assigned it as message tone.  >>to check if your files has been moved, from your menu, press my files, filter your files through drop down list, select phone memory, it will give you the list of files there.

Go to Profiles, and choose a Customized Profile. Rename it to whatever you prefer. In this profile you can select your ring tone, message tone, volume, etc. I only had to do this once, and everything worked perfectly!

I am having trouble assigning ring tones to incoming calls

To do that you have to have your Phonebook saved in your phone not your sim card because sim only lets you store name and number thats it.

Assigning a ringtone 2 a contact, text message sound is same

You should be able to change the ring tone and text message alert when you are editing the person's contact info. If there is not option for that, then you may have your contacts being saved to your sim card. Change it to your phone, when you do that a lot more options appear when adding/editing contacts. Hope this helps!
